Every day is a school day…

Post by nbg »

Well I didn’t know that! :)

I have many old school CWs that arrived with a cleaning cloth in the old style boxes.

However with the new Port bottle size boxes (and the even newer reduced size) I had assumed that the cleaning cloth had been discontinued and that the bit of card was just an internal lid.

IIRC I had even had a quick peak inside a couple, without opening the flap, and didn’t notice a cloth.

However I have just checked a box (one sent by CW with a C12 that was returned following a warranty repair) and found…

A new style cloth!

I wonder how many others were similarly unaware.

At some point I will check all my other new style boxes.

Well there you go! I knew they were still putting them in. I have several sitting in watch boxes unopened and a couple that I actually use. I have one of the original buff coloured ones, and the rest are black. They wash well.

I was aware of that, but must add that I have never ever opened or used any of the cleaning cloths from the numerous CW’s I’ve had over the years 🤷‍♂️

I've never opened a single one, so I'd be none the wiser.
