Mine too, as soon as I whip out the old phone, she immediately wanders off muttering about how she doesn't want to be seen with a weirdo, and that her sisters husband is normal, why can't hers be!

Took this in what you can imagine is quite a busy area, "ze crazy English no?" The missus walks off in another direction quite a lot when I do this, I have no idea why.

I was sitting on the subway this morning and I definitely caught myself admiring my wristwear in the reflection of the window even though I couldn't see it properly. How sad.

It happened again today but it was one of the kids that tutted at me not the wife.

I do like looking at other peoples watches to see if i can figure out what they are.

I find most watches i am uncertain about end up being sekondas.

Add to my list: posing left wrist awkwardly against fish tank / trophy cabinet / piece of granite whist holding digital SLR in other hand and wife walks in, "what are you.... never mind"

I went to Loch Fyne with the Mrs for a drink last night, and after taking a picture on the iPhone of my C900 MP, there was a guy with a Patek Philippe on at the next table. Initially I was trying to work out what it was, then upon finding that out, I kept staring at it. The guy clocked me and looked quite uncomfortable, especially when I tried to smile an apology. In hindsight I should have just said 'nice watch' but then he'd have probably thought I was going to mug him.

My wife's response was quite simple, she called me a knob end.

You don't get that sort of thing in a Richard Curtis film :-)
