European shipping/sales

Post by Hughly 741 »

I have a quick question - does anyone know if ChWard has a EU distributor? Last time I bought a watch was pre-Brexit and now I am dreading paying import duties to Finland :-/

^^^^ No they don't.

All watches, regardless of the International destination are shipped from CW Towers in Maidenhead, UK.

Why are you worried about paying duty / tax though?

We, here in the UK, have to pay 20% VAT. You don't pay this for shipping to Finland or if you do it is because you will not pay Finnish duty / tax.

May I suggest you do a test purchase on CW's website, put a watch in the 'bag' and then go through to Checkout. It will initially have VAT included but when you select the shipping address in Finland I anticipate the VAT will be removed.

Good luck.

Cool, I didn’t realize that the VAT is cut from the price before checkout. Thanks for the info!

Hi, I had the same question recently. I'm based in Portugal. When you go to shipping it will add the customs fees automatically. As far as I know CW handles everything before sending the package to you.

I'm made under impression that things may be handled differently now.

C1 Bel Canto Green ordered & been told its full UK price. They would handle VAT & shipping to Taiwan (11% instead of 20%). Wasn't impressed at all but I want the watch.
