Engraving on a PVD model

Post by FieryTowse »

The field is narrowing for the choice of my 40th birthday present watch, and Mrs FT has now had some input to the process (she really doesn't like the C40! ).

One query she did come up with when I expressed a liking for the new C11-Auto-KKK was whether she would be able to get it engraved for me. The pictures don't show whether the case back is PVD coated, but I'd have to assume that like the new C8 and C600 it is. Engraving is certainly given as an option, but I'd be concerned that it would go through to the bare metal and spoil the appearance, albeit of part of the watch that wouldn't be seen often.

Has anyone had or seen this done on a PVD model?

of course, some engraving on s/s is then "filled" with a black compound - nothing to stop this being done on a PVD
