My latest delivery went fairly smooth. Got the customs notice and paid with no issues. But for some reason the package went from NY to Cincinnati. Then back to Boston for delivery here in NH. Not sure why it made the detour. It almost felt like they did this to ensure that it made the delivery date and no earlier. It was in NY and cleared on the 15th with a scheduled delivery of the 18th.

I'm late to this thread, but just want to add my frustration as a US DHL customer. They've had a pretty poor success rate with my orders so far. I've had issues with half my deliveries including a box that was ripped open on one end prior to delivery. With these many issues, I'm guessing CW doesn't have much recourse at this point other than take their business elsewhere?

I tried to change the delivery to a collection point, but for some reason it won't send me an email to get a confirmation code. No chat option today either, and the only other option is a premium 0844 number. So I've emailed them, but I will just wait in for a delivery.

Let's hope it comes.
So what happened was it actually came today. It Went from Australia on 21st to Leipzig on 24th, to UK this morning and delivered about noon. I was trying to sort out a redelivery as I was going out in the afternoon, when the door bell rang, and it was delivered, so everything was OK.

Coincidentally I also bought a watch for my wife from jomashop, and that arrived in less than a week, as well.

So not the easiest tracking service but it all worked ok.

I could be wrong here, but my understanding is that all shipments come into the USA via a "Gateway" center, such as New York. All packages are then sent to the main hub (Cincinnati) for national distribution.

I can't be sure about this Kip. The tracking information talks about Clearance at Port of New York and then the package being sent to Elizabeth, NJ for local delivery. DHL certainly referred to Cincinnati, OH in their email to me but I see no indication of this in the package shipment information. I might be missing something though.

In my somewhat limited experience with DHL shipments coming into the US (Chicago area) from CW, only when a package gets selected for an ad hoc inspection by customs does it get forwarded to the DHL hub in Cincinnati.

That is new. My last two shipments went straight from NY to Boston.

Last year I had a watch trapped in the DHL/Customs abyss. Because of paperwork issues, it got returned to CW. The watch took a lengthy route, noted using major airports: CW to LHR-YYZ-MIA-CIN and back to LHR by unknown steps and ultimately CW. The watch recrossed the ocean once more to MIA-CIN-ROC to me. And then was dropped off across the road at my mailbox without a signature in a bright yellow DHL bag, swinging in the summer breeze.

I want to share my experience as well.
Two weeks ago, it was Friday, ordered an Yema. Shiped on Monday, delivered on Tuesday by DHL. Absolutely flawless operation.

Last Thursday ordered a C63 from CW. It was shipped same day and 11 hours later (early hours on Friday) my new watch was in my country (EU), waiting customs clearance. As excited to receive it, contacted DHL same day providing asked info. Although they have all the information (they send me a copy) provided from CW. They asked for description. Giving them - automatic wristwatch, model, etc. Next email they asked me if the watch has sim card slot. I gues, no one is obligated to know about watches, but this is rediculous. DHL asured me the watch has to be released in 48 hours. Guess what, today is the fifth day with my new watch hold for customs clearance. Contacted DHL multiple times, but they refuse to contact customs because according to them delivery was on schedule!? Their app give me delivery status "exception". I'm beyond furious with them on this one!

I got the dreaded "Further consignee information needed" message from DHL on my Atoll delivery yesterday. Exact same thing happened with the last CW watch. I check the address, everything is correct. I called them this morning, verified the address, and they say looks good should come today. Went back on DHL tracking and still shows a holding pattern due to "The street number listed in the Consignee Address field on the transport label is incorrect or does not exist." Will it show up today? Who knows. I have a feeling I will be calling DHELL again tomorrow about this. Not sure what the difficulty is since the address is correct and very easy to find on GoogleMaps. Always an adventure

^^^ I had a recent (March ‘22) CW delivery via DHL reported as held because my address didn’t exist. Funny how I’ve lived here in the same house since ‘99, and DHL has managed to make deliveries all the other times. When I spoke to someone at DHL, I was told that I must be mistaken about my address.

Do DHL give an opportunity to pinpoint your address in Just3Words?

In UK it's an option with DPD.

My most recent DHL shipment entered the USA in Chicago. From there it went to their distribution center in St. Louis. I received a text notice about the import duties owed and paid them immediately. Unfortunately, in the US, DHL does not work weekends so I had a torturous wait for my watch to be delivered on a Monday. It was a fairly smooth process. Currently, I have an order for an Artem strap inbound from Australia. It took 5 days for it to depart Melbourne. Now, I’m sitting in DHL limbo since it’s the weekend. So, I have no idea where it actually is right now. Hopefully, it’s currently in Chicago. I’m not thrilled with the no weekend policy they have here.

I'm not familiar with that but I know last time this happened I called them and they basically just looked it up on GoogleMaps while I was on the phone and found it easily and couldn't explain what the issue was.

I get the feeling since this was supposed to be delivered between 2000-2200 hours that they just didn't want to come out that late so they just said bad address.

They wound up delivering at 1730 hours the next day, Friday. Naturally I'm out of town for the weekend, so I won't get to see it until tomorrow night. Image Almost there...

Oddly for DHL, I got a Saturday update. My Artem strap has cleared customs. But, since DHL doesn’t work weekends in the USA, I’m guessing that I might receive the strap sometime in the middle of the week.
