While I've owned watches sans date they tend not to get worn a lot. It might not be necessary but for me every day it mainly feels "right" to have the date there at 3 o'clock. In fact, I consider the date more useful than the second hand on an automatic as I've used it on more occasions than I have needed second precision.
Also, as I have a tendency to not remember which day of the week it is, I quite like day/dates. But that might just be me .
Date or no date?
Re: Date or no date?
Omegas, Seikos and a Breitling. G-Shocks when wearing green. Soon to be CW-owner.

I don't think that is a problem.bobbubka wrote:I don't know my home landline. Not sure why they even exist these days?Amor Vincit Omnia wrote:I have met people who can't even remember the own mobile telephone numbers!
When someone asked Einstein his number he threw them the phone book and told them to look it up.
He explained that he had more important things to remember than that as it was already written down.
...or words to that effect.

Re: Date or no date?
In principle I prefer no-date watches, but I've yet to own one. I like the idea of being able to just set the time and go, without the extra fuss, and not being able to set it between 9pm-3am. I know I could ignore the date and not fuss over it, but I can't help myself.
Still, it never ceases to surprise me how often I refer to my date windows out in the wild. It's arguably one of the most useful complications out there...
