Re: CWL of the day
Yeah, it's part of the reason I wasn't super excited about the Bel Canto. It's nice that it exists but I can't imagine enjoying wearing it - at least not enough to buy it instead of something else in the price range.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 4:51 pm It's still misty, foggy and murky, so I'm trying to lighten the mood with a light blue strap on #BelCanto
I've come to the realisation that the Bel Canto is more a work of art, than it is a watch and I don't ordinarily get involved with, or appreciate, art.

Interesting observation, Guy, and one I would heartily agree with.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 4:51 pm I've come to the realisation that the Bel Canto is more a work of art, than it is a watch and I don't ordinarily get involved with, or appreciate, art.
I’m curious as to what might be buried a little deeper in that comment. Is it, “I really love this watch as a work of art, and that’s where I’m deriving the pleasure from when I wear it.” Or is it, “This is more a work of art than a watch for daily wear, and that’s not really my thing…perhaps the watch may not stick around a long time.”

Having again looked at at the Bel Canto from every angle, the research and development has to be applauded. It’s definitely a beautifully executed watch and I’m not surprised that it has received lots of positive reviews. I personally wouldn’t say it’s a work of art, I see the watch as ‘industrial design’. That’s not to say I dislike the end product nor is it a criticism, I’m just still at 50/50 whether I like look of the watch.jkbarnes wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 8:06 pmInteresting observation, Guy, and one I would heartily agree with.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Mon Nov 14, 2022 4:51 pm I've come to the realisation that the Bel Canto is more a work of art, than it is a watch and I don't ordinarily get involved with, or appreciate, art.

Re: CWL of the day
Yesterday's fog has been replaced by thick cloud and heavy rain this morning.
Time to try #BelCanto on a rubber strap, with red having been mentioned somewhere to match the Song Bird'a beak.
