Now that Summer seems to have arrived, I have rediscovered this splash of colour for my wrist….

C7 Rapide COSC, just finished sewing up this strap for it in blue Lyveden leather upper and Italian tan Buttero leather for the lining. Yellow thread for a match to the dial.
Keep well,

Recently started hand making most of the leather straps you’ll see on my watches, happy to consider bespoke order for forum members.

Great classic…Possibly the best example, IMO, of one that could have been left in the lineup permanently.
Guess that makes it even more desirable and collectible?
Hope your Dad is doing well.

This is my favorite Christopher Ward watch not in my collection. That one projects a refined elegance in a timepiece. Wear & enjoy in good health!

I'm quite pleased today as a C60 LE Mk2 I've long wanted is going to be coming to me in August. The seller (who is well known here) is bringing it across the pond himself and saving me an arm full in tax.

15/19 : Christopher Ward C5 Malvern Revival Special Edition

Also in January 22, the C5 entered the collection. CW had just re-launched these as a revival of the old C5 and I was hesitant to buy as I already owned two Malvern models.

What finally made me buy it was the simple design combined with the old logo on the dial. Simple and elegant - that's how a dress watch should be.

I am really enjoying your series Thomas, wonderful watches and brilliantly taken photos of them also

The C5 Revival keeps drawing me back to it, such a gorgeous dial, the detailing is just fabulous 8)

The more that I wear this one, the more that I like it. Sometimes simple is better.

16/19 : Christopher Ward C65 AMGT 2VEV Limited Edition

At the beginning of March, I came across this chronograph by chance, which I didn't know anything about until then. It is the last quartz watch that CW produced in an edition of only 150 for the phase-out of the quartz age in March 2021.

Launched in July 2020, the C65 AM GT Limited Edition was originally intended to be the last Christopher Ward watch to be produced with a quartz movement, following an earlier announcement that quartz production would be ending. With a dial based on the Aston Martin DB4 Zagato speedometer, the watch takes design cues from CW's earlier C9 AM GT and uses the same high-precision COSC-certified movement as the C70 Chronometer. The chronograph seconds and minutes registers are read via centrally mounted hands and the three sub-dials are dedicated to the chronograph hours and tenths, as well as running seconds with a date window inserted at 6 o'clock.

Launched in March 2021, the C65 AM 2 VEV Special Edition was based on the previous model but with a modified bezel. It features a highly precise thermo-compensated chronograph movement and has been offered in two limited editions to bring Christopher Ward's quartz chapter to a fitting conclusion. This watch features a tenths of a second timer, center chronograph seconds and minutes hands, as well as a 12-hour timer and a running seconds sub-dial. This ETA 251.233 movement was no longer available. The ETA 251.264BD was found as a suitable replacement.

Although the 251.233 movement was offered in COSC form in previously manufactured CW models, during the latter days of CW's quartz movement, the movements were offered in non-COSC form in the C65 AM VEV 2. Although they were COSC certified at the time of manufacture, they were sold as uncertified because the COSC certification body could no longer issue the paperwork.

Therefore, to complete final production, the updated 251.264 movement was used as a replacement.

CWL of the day

Post by dipidyy »

After DHL messing a lot up, I got this

I was hunting for vintage diver and lo and behold Aquitane was released.
I had peeled on serica and baltic. Neither really did it. Serica had weird bezel and baltic was, imo, not enough.
