I love this watch.Paul Drawmer wrote:"nd day running for this one - needs o get more air.
In the same way as I love the Ferrari 250 GT SWB Breadvan.
There's only one of each for good reason: they're both far from easy on the eye!
But because there's only one, there's something very special and desirable about them.
I saw your white/black (and the 'sister' white/white) at Henley and knew I was looking at a pair of true Marmite watches (I love Marmite). In hindsight I regret being so cautious and not buying one! But at the same time, I'm also glad I didn't because it gets a lot more wrist time in your ownership than it would of in mine.
I've also seen the 'Breadvan' in the flesh. At a track day at Spa last year.
My memory isn't great, but while grilling the owner and doing my best not to dribble on his car I vaguely recall him saying he paid about £10m about ten years ago? (+/- £5m!) In the next breath he invited me to hop in to the driver's seat (not helping my hazy memory of the occasion!). To give some gravity to the story for those not familiar with the classic car scene: legendary/historic cars have rocketed since the 2008 GFC, so I'm guessing I was sitting in a £30m car at today's money?
PS It was one of three rare beasts he had in his Spa pit garage. Lovely guy, true petrol for blood, and fair play for having time for a mere mortal like me!

Re: CWL of the day
I couldn't find a photo of the bread van on my phone but will this do. If you know your Ferrari's you'll know this car and its significance.
A friend of my runs a historic race team and one year at the little car show he runs and I contribute to he had a bread van bodied Bizrani(sp?) same body as the Ferrari but with 60's American running gear. It's a race car and gorgeous for its ugliness.

I could count nearly on one hand the number of Classic Minis at the show sadly.

I think this might be slipping towards the door marked "Wexit"; keep reminding myself it IS a 7750. Only worn it twice. Oh dear.
