I do. But the person was expressing an opinion that they felt down was fair. It then received a lot of defend all comments. A brand having no discounts or sales does bolster the brand and that is proven as it does not cheapen the brand. For example, try an get a discount on a 458 italia - impossible.

Re: CWL Black Friday
There is a difference between an occasional sale and a perpetual one.
CWL is increasingly in the latter bracket.
No one would buy from DFS without a discount.
Similarly no one expects "Rolex" to suddenly offer 10% off all watches.
If CWL would really go out of business if people only bought in sales then they shouldn't have them.
In reality, a once or twice a year sale would be fine. As it is there seems to always be one on, and the company should accept that if this is their approach then they will find people associate them with a discount. And it's generally not premium brands that only sell at less than RRP. There's no point complaining - this is the image they are creating.

Re: CWL Black Friday
I am very happy they have sales and NN offers it brings watches into my budget where a lot of them no longer are.
Re: CWL Black Friday
I understand the sentiment, but to be honest, even some of the really top brands are sometimes discounted. I got a great deal on an IWC pilot chrono many years ago. They retailed at the time for something like £2,350 and I bagged it for £1900 having just got a bonus at work.amolkarnik wrote:I am quite new to this forum and brand and it looks like there is a deal to be had at all times. Makes me feel like a sucker for buying 5 watches at full price knowing fully well that I could have had 10% off on 3 of them and 15% off on the remaining 2, just by waiting a few weeks.
Frankly, this is very poor show from the brand.
Will I pay full whack for another CW? No chance.
Theres an AD near me that has all of the Hamiltons up at 30% discount and dfuring the summer I was in York and n oticed one that hasd some great deals on some Breitlings. So, it happens.
I think you are right in waiting for the sales from now on though.
Cheers,
Jack.

Yeah sales are amazing. Why would you be **** because you bought a watch and then a few weeks later there was a sale. Send watch back with the 60:60 its what its there for.
The last watch I got my girlfriend had bought me then there was a 10% off or 15% sale shortly after, think it was about £30 off. I was so happy with the watch it didn't bother us in the slightest that the sale came after. If I had been buying a watch and there was a sale on then bonus.
I don't think anyone can really complain about sales. When buying there is always something better or cheaper round the corner.
Am looking forward to the January sale if there is one. Have got my eye on a few beauties.

And I have seen eBay sales where they person did not know they could send it back. It is amazing how many people do not read instructions.I.I.D wrote:Ultimately I can see CW stopping these sales if only to avoid people playing the system regarding 60:60, which is wide open to abuse & generates a lot of extra unnecessary NN's & that in itself destroys values. Future bargains might end up being just NN's which have been returned as unsuitable rather than as a form of hedging.
The majority of buyers are not on the forum. We get extra deals as well plus priority access to Wera. And we tell people about sales and deals. From what I have heard the 60 day return does not get used as often as you may think. Probably British stiff upper lip.
As has been said before. You don't need to do that. Just drop Wera a line explaining it and she will do a refund as it is more expensive for them to get the package back and redo it as NN rather than refund the difference.mabotham wrote:My tactic is to buy today and if the watch goes in the nn in Jan and is cheaper then todays purchase can go back under the 60/60.
Come on guys. Use some common sense. And as for the fairy land idea of pre announcing sales and discounts. Give me a break.

I spoke to Wera to today and this IS NOT THE CASE - no refund will be offered for the difference. I hope following this advice has not left you out of pocket

A lot has been said about the returns policy 'Oh just send it back' but my understanding is if the watch is used it cannot be returned. Quite rightly so.
Sales or periodic discounts must be a good thing for us the purchasers mustn't they.

Not sure how following the advice (to ask for the difference to be refunded, rather than returning a watch) could leave anyone out of pocket...mabotham wrote: ***

You ask, you get refused, you return the watch. You lose nothing by asking..

I think you need to read the 60:60 more carefully. You can wear it for two months and still send it back for a refund!Stena wrote: A lot has been said about the returns policy 'Oh just send it back' but my understanding is if the watch is used it cannot be returned. Quite rightly so.
