I’m positive a thread of this sort had to have been made sometime over the past decade or so but I can’t find it with some light searching so I’m creating a new one. If I’ve missed an obvious, active, better thread, let me know and we can use that one instead. I think the “What would make CW great?” thread was more about holistic improvements than just model wishlists.
I had thought throughout the sale we might see some cool Aquitaine prototypes and was disappointed we didn’t (NB: that’s not Christopher Ward’s fault, it’s mine for hoping for something nobody had indicated was even a possibility.)
But it got me thinking. What are some things you’d love to see from CW? New colorways of existing models? New models? Feel free to be unreasonable as you’d like; I don’t work for CW. Here are mine:
More orange. Would love to see an orange Aquitaine or Super Compressor.
More green. We have a great green Aquitaine, and I would have loved a green Sealander that didn’t have scratches on the dial.
More texture. I think CW does sheen variation really well: super glossy Aquitaine and Sealander dials, beautiful transparent sapphire dials, a matte-ish Atoll dial. Would love to see some waffle finishes or some some neat patterns.
Some new bracelet styles (jubilee, beads of rice, presidential, etc)
Anyway, that’s what I’m thinking about while I rock the 10 week-old back to sleep.

I’d definitely be into some non-date versions of current watches. I’d also like to see what they do with a cali dial, which I can never decide if I like

The limited edition red dial that they’re making available tomorrow through the CWE Facebook group looks pretty fantastic. It would be so cool to have a textured dial akin to a Seiko Presage or a — is “fume” the word? — enamel dial like an Anordain (except more affordable!). I’d also love domed sapphire on it.

Can you share a picture of the red dial limited edition? I don’t have Facebook
A white dial with black outline skeleton hands and anything but silver indices.
A grand complication would be .... grand. Extra brownie points if CW can slot in a small moonphase.
More SH21 models and would be good to see what CW come up with for a chronograph that has an extra dial for a power reserve. Speaking of SH21, looking forward to seeing a 5-day version of the Aquitaine (only a matter of time hopefully).

I don’t think there is much history in this area but some anecdotal info for you about prototypes and sales. The C63 Sealander was released just over a year ago. CW sold some Sealander prototypes only a few months ago, and others early in the July sale currently running. There were Mk3 C60 Trident Pro prototypes in the July sale last summer. How long has the Mk3 been available? I would expect Aquitaine prototypes exist, but we may not see them for some time after the model has been for sale and established.

Nice, thanks for that. The red isn’t for me (I’m not a member of the group anyway so I’m not eligible) but I can absolutely see why people will love that.
Makes me want to find 49 friends and get a bespoke model of something made.

I’m in. Only 48 more.

This subject has come up a number of times in different ways; mostly it’s along the lines of “What do you want CW to design next?” I even started one once.
I’m not actively looking these days.
However, I probably wouldn’t be interested if it was a diver, or if the dial was any of the following: green, red, see-through, ombré. Or if it was 42mm or more. Or bronze.

Thinking on this some more, I’d like to see a thinner SH21 watch. The Abyss SH21 is a watch I think I’d really like but it is too much watch for me: diameter and thickness are more than I want on my wrist. I’d be OK with the diameter if the height were reduced. I get on pretty well with my C8PR which is pretty wide but as a manually wound watch doesn’t have to accommodate the extras of a rotor. The C1 case is about the limit of what height I want with a watch. And I know proportions make all the difference in perception. I don’t need it to be world record holding thin. There is a reason, though, that I don’t choose to buy many divers and the height is a significant factor.

What do we want?
Something!
When do we want it?
When we can find 48 more people and then have all 50 of us agree on a watch design!
Sorry but it's not going to happen here. We've tried and tried since the relative failure of the last CWF LE and it's been impossible to get agreement on a design - too many ideas, too many options.
Nice idea but I doubt that CW would trust us again.
