CW watches as Groomsmen gifts?

Post by carman63 »

I'm just curious if any of you have considered giving a CW (or any) watch to your groomsmen as gifts?

I'm thinking far ahead, and am contemplating this notion. My idea of a wedding is much simpler (read: less expensive) than my fiance's. So I may not have any groomsmen except for the best man, and maybe ushers.

My idea is a C1 black face / black leather strap. For me, it would be an alligator strap but otherwise the same watch.

I'm wondering if I could swing a package deal and/or get some custom engraving done to commemorate the moment. Again, just a thought/vision at this time. Finances would govern what I'd end up with.

Thanks for reading! :)

Hi Jim,
Think its a very good idea,i certainly wouldn't mind receiving one as a gift.
Not sure what can be done about engraving through CW but if you ask he can only turn you down.
Chris is a very nice guy and very approachable but not sure if engravings something he would undertake but there are people that can.
All the best with your wedding plans and wedding itself :D

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Rick :) The lovely lady even supports my watch habit - she surprised me with a Corum Bubble 'Dive Bomber' over the weekend! I can't wear it just yet - she plans on formally presenting it to me down the road. Still, it's a fun piece, and I can't wait to wear it.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and for having a Lady who understands the habit.
Not sure about any package deal, but I bet CW will do the engraving if you just ask. Send him an e-mail thru the website. I am sure he will respond.

I'll mention it to Chris or Wera via email. I'm in the process of ordering 2 more CWs and my C3 is on its way to Chris for servicing. Thanks for the input :)

CW does do engraving, its not advertised on the website but it is something he quotes for on an individual basis. I've not had it done myself but I think others on here have.

If you look at this thread it should shed more light on it for you.

Good luck

Dan.

P.S. Good idea on the groomsmans gifts by the way. :D
So many watches, so little time (and money!!!).

It wouldn't be the first CW on a wedding:

Thanks for the link :) I thought there was someone else that had the same - or similar - idea.

Thanks for the link. I do recall this topic, now that I think of it. But until now I didn't think I'd ever have a use for it ;)

I think its a great idea, engraving makes a watch much more special and personal. I had my daughter's cw watch engraved when she got her cabin crew wings....................
