"Perfect condition" would mean that CW could put the returned watch straight back into stock for resale, following a quick inspection. That seems to be the official criteria of many other retailers who insist that packaging is intact etc.
I think that is probably what I was trying to say. Thank you.

It's a long time since I bought a watch at an AD (Rolex) but they resized the bracelet for me to try it. Is that not usually the case?

If so, providing no damage has been done (no rusty amateurs need apply) I would have thought "as new" still applies?

If there is no visible sign of the resizing having been done, I guess it's a moot point, and therefore, not a problem. However, in my mind if the buyer decides to resize, they should take the risk of 'paying' for any damage, rather than CW having to carry the can.

^^^ Actually, Nik, if it was a certain type of Rolex you could probably ask for 150% refund. Given that that’s what you could probably sell it for.

Alas, in those days (I did say a long time ago - or was it a galaxy far far away?) discounts were very much the norm, I got 20% off......

The comment about resizing (earlier in the the thread) is, I think, misleading. When CW say "Bracelet resizing does not affect the 60:60 guarantee" I'm sure they are talking about resizing carried out by them at the point of sale, rather than some bloke with a rusty pin-pusher.
A bit harsh on Mike he maybe a fully qualified bracelet adjuster man

It seems fairly simple to me. The conditions clearly state return in perfect condition. So that's the terms of your contract. As to whether you can wear it for one, four, eight hours, doesn't matter, the conditions remain the same. If you can tell it's been worn, it's not perfect. If you can't tell it's been worn, no matter how long for, it doesn't matter, it's perfect.

Having just had a look at the website I was surprised at this:

Q:Does engraving affect my 60|60 Guarantee?
A: No, except that we will not refund you the engraving charge.

That's quite impressive, most retailers will not refund personalised or bespoke goods unless they are faulty. (Statutory rights allow for this).

Rather generous, considering the difficulty one might have in shifting a Nearly New watch with “To Big Boy, Love from Bunnykins” on the back. :D

Wear it, see if you like it. If you don't, return it. I have done that with 2 CW watches. There was a couple desk diving marks on the bracelet when I returned one. I just didn't gel with it. They took it no questions asked.

They are not going to turn around and sell it as new. It will be sold as NN. Periodically they sell NN watches as they get them in. In the semi-annual sales, the NN always get sold.

I bought a NN Elite Trident GMT diver. It had a couple desk diving scratches on the bracelet clasp (titanium) and I had no problem as it was advertised NN.

This question pops up from time to time. Nobody will be able to answer the question except CW.

If it's ganked bad, all they will tell you is:
1. They won't accept it due to condition and you will get it back.

2. They will refund you partially with a hit for any significant scratching etc, ask if you accept the offer back and you say yes or no...

I'm sure Mike is competent but I've noticed when viewing houses that many people think they are better at DIY than actually are ...

I found the following on another thread about a return altho after complaining the watch was then fully refunded

"Well I returned my GT 1 VEV, unworn with all the protective stickers on watch and bracelet clasp intact, due to the lack of accuracy compared to what was originally advertised and I have just received an email offering me 70% refund of the purchase price as the watch is not in pristine condition?
