Kip used it in the thread title, Drew, so no embargo on that. As far as I can see, no-one has mentioned any specifics that cannot be inferred from the teaser material CW themselves have provided. Those of us who attended the preview are keeping shtum on details that were only disclosed there. As long as that remains the case, no problem.

Re: CW Preview: The Twelve
The Sealander GMT has a far greater resemblance (other than the difference in finishing) to one of the range of GS GMT, than an Explorer 2.jkbarnes wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 11:45 pmI never understood the comparison between the Sealander GMT and the Exp II. I never looked at the Sealander and thought Explorer. Just like you, I simply thought CW.Noush wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 10:27 pm To take my point a little further: when I first saw the Sealander GMT I saw a CW. It wasn't until I read the article in Loupe that the reference to Exp II by CW themselves really impressed itself. I mean, a brushed steel 24 hour bezel has been done and done for decades. Pop of colour on the 4th hand? That's a typical CW thing. Orange? Good idea, "best not do that then"....
It was with the Aquitaine and Dune lines where I saw obvious references to other watch designs.
The base Sealander three handers have zero resemblance to an Explorer.
Aquitaine is a nod to the BP FF, although the reality for anyone who has handled both is that it is far from an homage.
The Dune to me is a mash up of various styles, with no one watch that springs to mind for me.
At the end of the day I like them all and it’s not as if I come from the subset that says that without ownership or experience of handling the watches that are sometimes name checked as the origin of the CW design.
I will be saying the same about the Twelve when I own a couple.

Re: CW Preview: The Twelve
My first impression of the Sealander was that it was simply the Trident without a bezel. Explorer didn't come to mind.

Re: CW Preview: The Twelve
My first and ongoing reaction to the sealander is one of amazement that it caused such a stir here. To me, it was just another of the lookalike watches that CW are churning out right now. But now I have read the above, I get where you are coming from. However, the white dialled GMT shouts out Explorer to me.
CW seem to have settled on a fairly generic style as their bread and butter watches, whilst developing show stoppers to be released as LE's, from time to time. They must hope all elicit a reaction as positive, and profitable, as the Bel Canto.
It will be interesting to see what the 'Twelve' brings to the game?

I think the CW marketing team have jumped the gun again
I got an email from CW this morning saying the new edition of Loupe was out now, with the inside story of the twelve. Of course the new Loupe edition isn't actually out yet. I'm guessing most everyone here got the same email.

I did visit issuu.com to check after I got that email - no, that issue has not been released.

I was away with work and unable to make the preview. It is intriguing to see CW’s take on an Gentaesque integrated bracelet watch.
I do quite like the style and wore this all last weekend

Re: CW Preview: The Twelve
Not exactly true.
Right from the Loupe: The watch will come in stainless steel and titanium versions, with at least 100m of water resistance thanks to the screwdown crown.

Does this show it to be a limited edition of 8 or are my eyes deceiving me?

That would be cruel to make The Twelve a limited edition of only eight.wes123 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 4:42 pmBahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 5:00 pm There are hex key bolts on one side of the watch at least.

That comes directly from the preview in Loupe 27 Winter 2022 page 11 (all issues of the Loupe are available in the archive).Mypocketlint wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 3:39 pmWhere did you see that?! That is exciting! Would love to see more titanium from CW!
