Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
I do wonder how many fewer watches the company would sell if they didn’t have half off prices. That is why I purchased my first CW watch. In fact every CW watch I purchased at least has 30% off.
I have also noticed a trend of the watch prices increasing quite a bit over the past 2 years. Almost like they are adjusting prices for the sales.

Same here, all 7 of my CW watches have come in the sale or clearance section.jesierras wrote:I do wonder how many fewer watches the company would sell if they didn’t have half off prices. That is why I purchased my first CW watch. In fact every CW watch I purchased at least has 30% off.

With such big discounts on offer, I’d struggle to pay full price on one knowing it could crop up as a NN watch or in the sales further down the line.
I hope this “Jan Sale” doesn’t end up like the Christmas bonus in National Lampoons Christmas Vacation... non existent, forcing me to drive to CE Towers and kidnap the bosses until they come to their senses and start the Jan Sale.

I think this applies to many purchases now. Many of us are so inured to discounts it's hard to pay list for any substantial purchase.

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
I don't begrudge anyone after that dream watch at a discount but I'd quite happily not take any sales and just use the discount codes whenever they come up. Of course there could be ad-hoc sales of old models etc or nearly new at modest discounts, but hopefully not 50% or even 30%.
I think this is because -
- I don't have a model I desperately want
- £100-£150 with a coupon off is fairly generous already
- You get tempted to buy just because of the discount
- I won't get annoyed at how someone can have bought 8 models and just banged them all on Ebay!
- It means that my CW's are potentially worth more
- Not paying a higher full price to justify the ability to accommodate a future sales price - Good point from Jesierras earlier.
- The brand is strengthened and not known as - Good watches but I wouldn't pay full price for one (apart from the coupon...)
- Which other credible brand sells at such discounts as often?
- The sales thread won't be the most popular on the forum!
Good luck to those who are looking...at winning the Ebay bidding process

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
I’ve sold a lot of watches and it never fails that I leave the price $50 higher than it should be and have endless people begging for $50 off. I’ve had people refuse to buy $4000+ watches simply on the principle that I wouldn’t come down $50. Seems like a lot of wasted time and energy to me, but whatever floats your boat.JAFO wrote:I think this applies to many purchases now. I'm utterly outraged I didn't get to snag purchase the watch I wanted deserved at 50% off in the official CW Jan sale that hasn't yet started, and will be writing a letter of complaint to the Daily Mail

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
Are you planning on joining the race to do some more Ebay flipping again then?!

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
Great post...I have my eye on a specific watch and if it's not on sale I will not buy another......I'll just wait to purchase it new with the next coupon offer then...I want to be happy on the one I wear and not have any regrets...life is too short....TigerChris wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 5:44 pm I shall be steering clear as these sales have a tendency to trick you into buying the deal not the watch and there isn’t a specific model I’m after currently. I’ve done it 3 times in the past and sold all 3. Don’t buy just because it’s cheap would be my best advice. Far better using vouchers/codes to buy the watch you really want rather than a substitute in the sale. Obviously, there can be exceptions with 50% off that can be worth buying to look at but, in my experience, that rarely works too well in the end. Good look to all that have specific watches they want that they appear. I shall sit back with the popcorn, watch the frenzy and chuckle at all the moaning about eBay buyers being quicker, missing out, website crashes, being sh*fted etc.... - we all know those comments will be all over here![]()

Maybe we can get the BBC interested: they do a fair line in indignant outrage.CBMVic20 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 2:06 amI'm utterly outraged I didn't get to snag purchase the watch I wanted deserved at 50% off in the official CW Jan sale that hasn't yet started, and will be writing a letter of complaint to the Daily Mail![]()
