I think the issue is that it’s just a think layer that just flakes off easily. Artificial distressing rarely works well... proper ageing however, with genuine patina however, is lovely.biggus_richus wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 7:37 pm
I tried taking it up with CS last week, but they said that it was acceptable wear!

I wore it daily for a period, at least 20 years ago but stopped wearing it at some point....it's been in a drawer ever since. (It's a quartz).
Yes, I think you'd need the eyes of an 8 year old to read & make use of the Seiko dial.

Omega Speedmaster, Bulova Accutron Gemini, Tudor Black Bay Heritage Maroon & Black, C65 Trident Bronze SH21 LE, C65 Trident Black, C65 Trident Diver SH21, C65 Trident Ombre LE, Longines HydroConquest beautiful AF and better than C60 300
Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
This arrived today, many thanks to Kev and Rich for the opportunity to own this lovely C65 Blue/Bronze prototype from the recent sale
It looks fantastic on this distressed leather strap, but I'm going to try and wear it on some others first, whilst I get this strap treated to try and maintain it's condition.
A truly stunning addition to my (growing) collection

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
Thanks for the heads up. I was lucky enough to see your post here as soon as you posted it and finally got my C1 moonglow, after like the 5th time one appeared in the sale!

HOWEVER: I just put in an offer on a house and got it accepted last week, hope the lender doesn’t have an issue with a big purchase just before closing

The Moonglow will look brilliant on your wrist as you sign the new house papers
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

Do you know, I was actually looking at that and thinking that I'd seen someone asking about the MoonGlow but couldn't remember... glad you got it and I'm sure the house sale will be fine tooajax87 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 4:52 pmThanks for the heads up. Now get some Gliptone on that distressed strap, to help stabalise the finish.JasperCat wrote:This arrived today, many thanks to Kev and Rich for the opportunity to own this lovely C65 Blue/Bronze prototype from the recent sale![]()

That's my plan. I've moved the watch onto a black vintage oak strap (from the sale) for now, and have a blue hybrid incoming. Am going to get some Gliptone and use it on this strap, because right now it actually looks distressed enough (I like the current look) and don't want it to flake to bare. I'll probably only put this strap on it for special occasions though, as it looks so absolutely cool in that strap

Cheers
Gary

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
A few more 'Nearly New' watches have been added, clearance page showing 9 in total at the moment.
Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
The C60 Abyss and Elite GMTs are both very tempting but I'm hoping for a C7 Hornet to materialise on the Clearance page. Wishful thinking?
