That's my position too. In years, probably decades to come this has the potential to be the "Antiques Roadshow" quirky collectible model.

Thanks for the reply H0rati0 !H0rati0 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 11:51 pm
Frankly, the Al Deere is a nice watch - not for me since it is PVD and no date, but those are personal preferences.
IMHO the COSC certificate is not such a big deal, it is valid at the time of certification for the movement only and by now the whole watch (after casing up and shelf life) will be whatever it has settled down to be - hopefully pretty close. You are correct that it may be an issue at resale, but that depends on the buyer's knowledge/disposition.
Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
Both watches I’ve received recently were delivered by DHL, who don’t give any estimated delivery time as DPD do... wee bit annoying!
Is it just lucky dip which delivery company you get?..

In my experience the hourly windows are DPD.TheBeatles wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 10:42 am

Have a look at their app. They tell you which delivery you are out of however many, and show you a map of your house, and the driver's location, and gradually refine the ETA to half an hour, fifteen minutes and "you're next".
And then they get you to rate the delivery.

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
My pleasure and welcome to the forum.
Just to add, whilst I and the forum generally are not so keen on the TDB customisation editions (though the Al Deere is well done) you still have the SH21 movement and whatever, that is a class act COSC cerificate or no. SH21 is anyway constructed to chronometer standards and experience on the forum bears this out in spades. I myself have had a C8PR for three years and IMHO it stands head to toe with the best in the industry.
I hope you will be well pleased when you do get your hands on it.

I appreciate the welcome, and the vote of confidence/reassurance, danke schon! Have been aware of CW for a wee while & figured it’s about time I got more involved. Looking forward to itH0rati0 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 1:58 pm

Thanks Guy.. although I live in SW London
My deliveries did have Heathrow listed as part of the journey from Maidenhead. Maybe as I live over this side of the airport, DHL works for CW via DHL’s LHR hub, or maybe they’ve arrived fresh from Switzerland, or maybe even CW keep stock at LHR ready to distribute?!
Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
Has anyone else who ordered their sale watch on the 6th not had a delivery notice?

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
The one I bought on the 6th still says being prepared for despatch. I only live about 15 miles away from CW Towers, so it should need not really need two days or so to get prepared for that journey!
Re: CW January ‘21 Sale
I see there's only 3 half price watches left now. The C3 tourer chrono is a good way of getting a quality mesh bracelet, and a decent chrono into the bargain, if you don't mind quartz.
