I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sale on CW, how good of a sale are we talking and what lines are usually included as I’ve got my eye on a Dartmouth?

You’ve never seen a sale on CW?! More sales than DFS.

Haha, I’ve bought 4 CW’s over my time, each one at full retail as there never seems to be a sale when I buy

Are the sales “real sale” and worth holding off for? Or it it select lines and legacy stock type stuff?

Hold off and have a look - 30 to 50% but you need to be quick and hope the site doesn’t crash! If you miss out then hang fire for the next £100 voucher code.

The latter.

Current models are subject to promotions from time to time (not at the same time as a sale) with the likes of £100 voucher codes, 10% or 15% codes on, usually, specific models for a short period of time i.e. 4 - 7 days.

The 'Sales' generally happen twice a year, January & July, and comprise end of line / retirement models at 50% discount and 'Nearly New' pieces at 30% off. Stock availability is usually limited, sometimes to only single pieces.

Good luck.

Do a search on July Sale. There's some web page pics.

I’m not getting too excited until next Monday 4th Jan, seems the most likely date they’ll start the sale...

Praying for the C1 Grand Malvern Power Reserve or C1 Moonphase... fastest finger at the ready!

To a couple of queries above. Sales are definitely worth waiting for. In the past, new discontinued watches generally half price, and nearly new (often trade samples) at 30% off. Half price on already fairly priced watches gives you a great Swiss made watch for under £500. Don't hang around. Make sure you are set up ready to buy on your account. Putting a watch in your bag doesn't guarantee it. It's first through the checkout.

They aren't all released together so you have to keep checking the listings.

Sounds like fun (has to be better than the nightmare I had trying to get PS5’s) hopefully some gems show up, do we get any prior warning or will the sale just magically appear on the website and the first few to find it are the lucky ones?

If you’re on the mailing list I believe you get the email when the Jan sales goes live 48 hours before the general public see it.

Question is the timing of when the email gets sent out, I’ve seen the sale link posted on here a couple of hours before I get an email.

It’s a frenzy.

We do indeed refer to it in some circles as "the feeding frenzy".

It's all a bit academic, really. The email is meant to be an "exclusive preview" but it's generally on the forum, Facebook and who knows where else within minutes.

Keeping my eyes peeled and the forum refreshed, but looking increasingly likely for next week.

Buy the sale watch to make sure you have it and then you can return the watch bought at full price for a full refund within 60days of purchase (provided you have not worn this watch!)
Not necessarily good advice. It could easily happen that you buy at full price and not be able to nab one in the sale. Only buy if you are happy with the price And the watch.

It's always useful to have your CW account open on multiple tabs to keep up with the changes when it's frenzy time.

Sorry but I have to disagree with your response to my comments. The OP asked “If I buy a watch at full price and it's then cheaper in the sale a few days later, can I return the watch for a full RRP refund and then re-purchase another at the discounted price?”

IMO it can be assumed that he’s surmising a situation where he’s already bought the watch at full price, is happy with it and has it in his possession but then the sale happens within 60days and the same model watch is available at the lower price.

My advice to him is then to buy the sale watch before he returns the full price watch to ensure he has 1 of the watch he was willing to pay full price for but now has it at the lower price.
