I'm a bit disappointed by CW sales strategy. All the way up to Christmas I was receiving email offers and enticements, but what I don't like are sales where you could jump in and make a purchase only to find a cheaper price later on. I've not studied individual watch prices over time, so it might be that specific model prices haven't gone down more than once.. There's a chance though, that a reduced watch is bought only to find that the one you really wanted is half price a week later. I know that's just the way it is, I just wish it wasn't.

Isn’t that the same with anything you buy? If you live by that you’ll never buy owt

Well done CWL for dealing with this in a timely manner. If an individual is buying multiple items not for resale (like a multiple father son/s purchase) then they should be able to buy them, sale or no sale.

I only care about people buying these to sell because I know they’re rotten people who couldn’t care less about the joys of collecting and talking about watches. They’re just giving a giant middle finger to all of us and using watch fans out of greed.

I hope they have lost packages and anything else to make it a bad experience.

The brown (black sand) dial SCs are being discontinued, and the ones being sold off at discounted prices are the original dials with the orange "Super Compressor" text slightly shifted left of center. This has been confirmed by CW's customer service, explaining that they have dials as they appear in the product page pics. Other dial colors have had that text alignment corrected and their pics represent that.

I am sure I wouldn't be bothered about the slight printing offset if I wanted one of these.

There were quite a few of these available as they did not sell well compared to the Ocean blue. Then the deep blue introduction and sales seem to be the death knell for the black sand. Personally, I like it, but not all variants of a good model always sell well.

It's an imperfect world it seems. Suggest you research the annual sale cycle via this forum and make a diary note -- and count your blessings that the forum exists to help you get through. Not sure what you mean by "only one watch" though?

For myself I'd like to see CW apply their rules of engagement concerning maximum number of sale purchases strictly rather than leaving it to individuals to decide whether to play by the rules or not. (I think we've seen enough in Washington this week to know the answer on that one!)

I bought a heavily discounted watch from Bremont. The t & c's clearly state that if by buying one I sold it on within it's 3 year warranty the warranty would be scrapped, and that they would refuse to sell me another watch.

I think this is very fair. Maybe CW could do the same for their discounted watches? This means that that there is little profit going to be made by bulk buying.

If someone does buy in bulk they are also sitting on a large amount of goods with little certainty of actually selling on quickly, or certainty of doing so.

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits for eternity :)

Hmmm ... unfortunately, there isn't a solution suitable for all scenarios.

Take for example last Jan sale. I purchased a 38mm C60 that I wasn't fussed on when it arrived, but was able to answer a WTB on the forum for that particular watch. Allowed someone else the chance to have it at sale price as opposed to sending it back and the vultures feeding on it.

Similarly, later in the sale I purchased a C65 and didn't get on with the size. It went to sales corner at less than sale price.

Losing the warranty wouldn't have helped matters with these. I bought both with the intent on keeping, but neither worked out *for me* to the benefit of 2 forum members
