Movement will certainly be mechanical, probably ETA 2824-2.

Blue Superluminova is my idea for the special edition KF, CW has to validate this option.
We call manual-winds mechanicals and automatics automatics.

We call every movement driven by a wound spring a mechanical movement, the winding can be done by hand or by a rotor.

"A mechanical watch is a device for keeping time, which uses the energy from a wound spring, and keeps time through the highly regulated release of that energy through a set of gears (the wheel train) and an escapement. It differs from the typical quartz watch in that it uses purely mechanical components to keep time."

That is correct!

The generic name is "mechanical watch". There are mechanical watches with hand-winding or automatic-winding.

I added a forth option for the Limited Edition, based on the modifications I made on my black Malvern:

You can find it as Option D in this thread

So far I like option D the best. Simple, and ties in with the reason I first became a CW fan, the auto Malvern.

Forum-members can come up with new suggestions for the Special Edition until wednesday, june 20th. After that we have our final list with Special Edition models and I will walk through the list with CW to see if every model would be possible. And after that we will start with the voting!! :)

@ Hans:

I have a short question: In this thread I wrote:

Raised Gold Numerals

As I stated before, the mechanical movement probably won't fit the C1, but I think these specs would fit the C5 also nicely, not?
I think that is correct, Hans. For me it seems, that the dial of the C1 is not compatible with an standard mechanical movement.

For me an alternative would be:

- C5 case style
- Mechanical movement
- Golden case/ xxx wood dial (Terminator should be our wood-specialist :D)
- Raised Gold Numerals
- Raised Gold CWL Logo
- Gravure on the case back:

Nico
But in the thread about the "Forum-Edition options" this alternative is attributed to Terminator. Are there any reasons fo this or am I making a mistake now? :D

However, this is my proposal:

- Golden C5 case

- Golden ETA 2824

- Alligator strap with golden clasp

- Wooden dial
(The possibilities have to be clarified with chris)

- Raised Gold Numerals

- Raised Gold CWL Logo

- Gravure on the case back
- http://www.christopherwardforum.com - Limited edition - xx/50
(the gravure has to be written round about the case back)

- Nice box

Have a nice day :D

Ehhm, reading back the thread, I come to the conclusion that the most important aspect of Option A is the Wooden dial, which is Terminators idea, he only wanted it in combination with a C1, which is probably not possible, that is why I suggested to go for the wooden dial with the C5. You agreed on that and summarized the SE Wooden dial C5 characteristics. :)

Yes Hans,

for me it is definitely OK that it was Terminator's idea!!!

But I do not want, that Terminator feels misunderstood, because he wants the "C1-style". And I do not want that Terminator complains about the idea to use the "C5-style" with a wooden dial.

For me, everything is perfect.
