CW-Forum Special Edition
All this mucking about with graphics is certainly improving my skills. I notice the improvement each time I do something lol.Hans wrote:Terminator, maybe you can change the picture and alter the small-second to a central second, and then we have a wooden C5?
You asked and if I can I provide Hans I will lmao

I have missed out the second hand for now but the dial is more like the C5 with the date etc.

P.S. Some good news that I hope Chris does not mind me sharing with you. I got an e,mail from him this morning and he says he is investigating the feasability of different wooden dial finishes. I guess that means to see if it can be done ie production wise. It does not of course mean he will do it for sure but at least he is looking into it. Hopefully all this discussion on wood dials has increased his interest. It has certainly increased everybody elses interest and it looks like ( at least to me ) there might be a demand.

Well if you liked that then what about this then?Nico Wagner wrote:Nice! Nice! Nice! Nice!

Actually once you get into this graphics thing it does not take long to do stuff. The following watch took about an hour.
It is an interesting one because it is basically a " C5 Woody " rather than a C1 version. I also varied the theme and based it on " Maple Cluster " rather than Walnut etc.
However it does show the endless possibilities with high quality wood dials.
Im convinced we are onto something here.
Enjoy

This is a hunch on my part, but I believe the issue with the C1 was the movement/dial was for a movement with a subdial for seconds, not the Roman numeral hour markers. Some have said that the cases were the same size...maybe even the same case. So, I believe the issue with the C1 is just the subdial. I think you could still have the roman numerals. Just my take on what I have read so far.Terminator wrote:I am doing these images with the C5 but I would still rather see the C1 style roman numerals myself.
Terminator, how about one with the maple cluster for the outer chapter ring, but the fiery walnut burr for the inner part of the dial?

Is there something special about the C1 case I am missing? It looks the same as the C5 case to me. I don't know about the size though. Most have said they like the C1 case so I am wondering if I am missing something about it.

I have been sitting back watching the ideas flow. They are all terrific and I hope Chris and the forum (Hans) can pull this off. Time for my 2 cents.
The fiery C1 (preferred) or C5 with automatic movement and gold bracelet is a sure thing for me. Maybe even ship with leather strap included also to make it even more flexible and complete. A terrific possible matching presentation box and you add even more value.
Add in the raised logos, special forum features, exibition back(?), and personalization if requested, Sounds Like I have a new watch in my future.
In fact I would probably buy 2. One to wear and one to keep forever. Looking forward to getting your poll Hans so we can help get this moving forward.
Thanks to all of the members who have put so much effort into this project so the rest of us can benefit.

Small update, in the options-thread I filled in a few more details of option A (marked in blue). CW is currently investigating the possibilities with a wooden dial.
If this project succeeds, and if we manage after voting to determine our special edition, I will start a competition for the best name of our special edition, I'll try to arrange a small price!
Tomorrow I will come up with a second option for a special edition, based on the diver, the Kingfisher.
And don't forget: you are all invited to come up with other ideas or designs, the people over at CW are even willing to help us with working out the design!

woodys
ok so now I've got the CW on my wrist I feel more able to contribute/question - you'll see from my previous relies etc I'm really up for purchase of a woody & kingfisher - backing hans & terminator on their excellent presentations/comments 100% - but a few things niggle me would the woody dry out and split/curl ? how's this prevented ? would moisture release "fog" the watch? - hopefully not promoting negatives but playing devils advocate a little and hoping some expert out their has the positive responses to further promote the ideas.
