^^^^ @TheBeatles I agree Brian BUT the watch I saw was only a month or so, at the most, into the process of the Bronze gaining patina.

Give it another 3 - 6 months and it will be looking much darker and dull/matt.

I take your point, as always, Guy

But I wouldn’t want to spend that much money on a watch, only to have to wait 3-6 months before it would look better.

Mind you, for full disclosure, I’m not a bronze watch fan anyway.

Good to see Olivia and Patrick from CW and check out some CWs and others.

This is going to look great with more patina.

Interesting bronze tone from that pic Guy. Are CW still using the same bronze as before, or have they used the alu-bronze used by Tudor etc?
It looks to have a brass tinge rather than the usual pink.

Well, I had a very enjoyable time at the watch fair yesterday with my son. It was very nice to say hello to Olivia. A lesson l learned for the future was not to wear a deployant clasp, as squeezing them off and on to try on watches became rather irritating especially as they tighten up as you get warm.

I held a Bel Canto. My son listened to the ding. I would have struggled in a noisy room. I tried on the purple (my favourite of the 3) limited edition Sealanders, and although it's smaller than I prefer, it was very attractive, I expect my wife would like it very much on the leather strap.

I didn't expect to be so impressed by the super compressor in real life. The one on display absolutely sparkled. I think it must be the ocean blue, as that seems to be the only colour currently available. There was a lovely Moonglow, permanently lit by a UV light.

I decided my favourite version of the trident pro 300 was the white one, and the 2mm reduction in height compared with the pro 600 is worth having, unless you are into deep diving. The profile was more like a svelte C65, I thought.

It might be a bit of a preconception, but the CW watches in general seemed to be on the small side now, with relatively few in excess of 40mm. The Zero West watches for example, were noticeably chunky on their substantial robot-wars-like stands. Sorry, no photos.

CW watches still seem to offer excellent value compared with many of the other brands exhibiting, even without the discount vouchers.

One final thought. I've finally seen a watch with a new style applied logo, and it's pretty subtle. I couldn't even tell it was applied without a loupe, although my eyes have seen better days. It's still nice to know it's there. On reflection (pun intended) :D , I think the metallic painted logo is probably as effective as the applied logo. I looked through my watches, and othe than my in CW C7s, I don't actually think I have any other applied logos.

The CW stand was opposite the studio underdog stand which just had all 6 variants of their chronograph, 4 in repeat colours, and 2 limited editions. They were all 38.5mm also, and wear quite delicately for chronographs.

I only took a couple of pictures, but here's a couple of crops of the two I took.

I've got a burnt sand SC and have enjoyed the ocean blue: I think they all pop and I've put it down to the inherently sparkly indices.

Usual caveat about thieving magpies but leave it outdoors in the weather. Alternatively, if like me you live in a hard water area and resort to descaling the kettle with vinegar you could dangle the watch in hot vinegar vapour. Or drop it in a cup of salty water for an hour or two but with methods B and C remember to rinse off after with clean water.
