I am new to the blog, and just bought my first CW, the Trident, really love it. Having owned quite q few divers, this is indeed one of the best values I have seen, I really love the watch. What has been surprising is how negative this blog is. As I said I am new here and to CW, but so far it has been great. Maybe I am missing something?

Not sure I understand, the CW blog is positive, after all it's the company talking about itself and they seem to be talking it up pretty well to me?

CW Blog - Creating waves....

I suspect he meant he's surprised how negative the reaction to the blog is (on this thread)... and I'll have to agree with him if that's the case. If it were any other company; Rolex, Omega... Ford... you would expect them to sell themselves up in their own blog, which is exactly what CW have done. I for one have no problem with the CW sales, as they give me an opportunity to get some good watches at good prices. Keep 'em coming, I say...

That is what I meant, and hey fair enough, that people are saying what they feel, which is a good thing. My experience has been really positive, and the product has surpassed my expectations. As I have read through other threads, I have really noticed the "rebranding" issue, as well as what seems unhappiness towards customer service, but again, that is what this is for, so I was just trying to grasp where this company is going. Seems some are jumping the ship, or maybe I am reading too much in:)

Try to keep the big picture in mind which is that CW makes an excellent swiss made watch in terms of design, build quality, and materials for a fantastic price. I own four CWs and my experience, like yours, has been very positive. As a result, I plan on purchasing more watches from the company over time. You're right that the rebranding and logo changes got some folks upset. As a newer member of the forum, I found the whole brouhaha confusing and rather ridiculous quite frankly and chose to focus on the product which is amazing given the price, your Trident being a perfect example. People will come and go for their own reasons and that's fine. If I see the quality of the product going down, prices rising, service deteriorating etc, then I'll just move on and do business elsewhere.

Greetings,

Thank you for your post.

Very interesting article, still love those C6 Kingfihers!

Whilst I'm not a fan of all of the Trident variations, it is a cracking range which offers something for most people.

I wonder what is next?

You're welcome and welcome to the CW family! My next CW purchase will be the Slimline Square with the blue dial and brown band. I also have on my potential list the C65 Vintage with lighter brown band and the C65 classic with the steel bracelet. The C65 series has the new logo which I personally like. Please take a look and give me your opinions on these bad boys!

Nice article, always nice to read some background information of these watches.

I wish they would offer some more versions of the C60 Pro like a nice blue version (like the C65 LE), more versions with flat dials or even sunray dials.
Devarika Woulf wrote:I mean the Trident competes every bit as much with the Oris Aquis which officially retails for double the price of the C60.
I had an Aquis and I think those are a step above the C60. Official retail prices of most Swiss brands are misleading and real prices for the Aquis here in the US, especially from grey market dealers, come close to the regular price of the C60 and match or are lower than the higher end C60 models.

Good article. It would be nice to read more about the Kingfisher. Still one of the most unique designs CW has ever done, in a watch style that sees very little new design. Obviously the C60 is the better seller, but the consistently high resale prices for the Kingfisher show that it still has a strong following.
Not surprising that the black/black is the biggest seller, but interesting nonetheless that none of the many variations can dethrone the classic.

I have the Oris Diver 65 on my list which I can buy for around $1,100.

Welcome to the forum!

Me too. I'm a watch fan, but I'm not prepared to drop multiple thousands on one. I'm just not wired that way so the CW line, particularly when they are on sale (which is often), is a great way to buy mid-level Swiss watches at what is a ridiculously low price.
As I have read through other threads, I have really noticed the "rebranding" issue, as well as what seems unhappiness towards customer service, but again, that is what this is for, so I was just trying to grasp where this company is going. Seems some are jumping the ship, or maybe I am reading too much in:)
CW has it's share of issues, as do other companies. The product is great, from my experience customer service is mostly very good (Wera is the in-house forum customer care representative and seems to be very efficient) but they have been making some silly service mistakes recently. It's nothing earth-shattering but some people here seem to like to make a big deal out of it. I expect CW will correct their issues and it's good that there is a place like this to highlight the areas that need improvement.

I wasn't here for the re-branding but have read through many of the threads from that time. IMO, CW could have handled it better and although I much prefer the Chr Ward design, I respect their right to go in whatever direction they want.

Anyway, back to the range. The Trident's are likely the gateway drug for most buyers and it's easy to see why (although I picked up my C11 on eBay as my first watch and was so impressed with it I immediately looked for more CW's). I love my blue/blue Trident (now discontinued) and ordered the rest of the watches listed in my signature in quick succession.

I'll be interested to see what new products come through in the future, even with the new branding and they will likely continue to offer outstanding value for money.

The tridents are a really nice line and offer something diffrent to the usual Mercedes hand copy of the rolex. I thought the omega waves of the mark 1 gave it something different over the likes of stinehart. It's a shame the kingfisher had to be dropped to make room for the trident, but it has proably kept it as some peoples favourite as it was a short run and wasn't over done with colour options and le 's Would be nice to see I trident with a tangarine sunburst dial as a nod to its kingfisher origins.
