Interesting read though I am not sure CW should have been speaking to one of those young beard types in public, I can just see a few shaking their fists/walking sticks/poking him with pitch forks while screaming "Get a haircut hippy" "Not in my day" "Buy some proper slacks" "Get off my lawn" and other Alf Garnet type stuff

That aside, pity the Kingfisher was dropped but the reality is, people love their Rolex type divers watches, just ask Steinhart. As for the comment about acclaim, it has to be said they are pretty popular and do have some good reviews for being a value divers watch. What has really shot them in the foot is the Rolex comments, the pointless comparison to Tudor and other advertising car crashes.

I see the regular sales as pretty much a way to shift stock no different from any other company, its not like they are selling them at a loss.

It would have been nice to have had a bit more of an in-depth chat about the why's and wherefores, rather than just soundbites, but as for the quality / price ratio thing, I have to agree with them. I got the vintage for £374, sans VAT and shipping fees. Can't beat the value of that and I love the watch!

Back on topic, I had always assumed that Chris was the driving force behind the designs, but from the blog, it indicates that it's Mike -

"Chris: It was a collaborative effort involving all three co-founders, but for Mike, who has mostly been the prime instigator of our watch designs, Trident was very much his idea."

I honestly have to say. Well done Mike. It's a great watch.
