This is a really interesting topic. A great statement for CW that at least two 2021 releases merit serious discussion. The C60 Concept & C63 Sealander range symbolize the company at a crossroads. No doubt the C60 Concept represents a high water mark in design & a landmark model in the company's history. On the other hand, it was a 210 piece limited edition. Yes, it did show what the company is capable of doing but is it the future of CW? Is CW going to make increasingly complicated & more costly watches? I won't argue that the C60 Concept packed value compared to what watches of that caliber generally sell for. But, at $4,300 in U.S. dollars, it wasn't affordable for many of us. And, it puts CW clearly in competition with the likes of Omega. Nothing wrong with that but not what CW has stood for since its founding. The C60 Concept was an attention grabber. But, a company like CW doesn't stay in business selling 210 piece limited edition runs. In contrast, the new Sealander line seems to encapsulate everything that is Christopher Ward. I believe the automatic & GMT versions to offer some of the best value in regard to quality. And, I am willing to bet the Sealander range has been one their all time best sellers. Unfortunate that the Sealander vote is being split between the Automatic & GMT models as they are variations of the same watch. I voted for the C63 GMT Sealander because of its increased power reserve. Increasing that power reserve from 38 to 56 hours is a big deal! When I read reviews from the likes of the Oracle of Time, one constant criticism has been the only adequate 38 hour power reserve. I believe the introduction of the improved caliber is a landmark event & will be used in more CW watches going forward! And, CW has done this by making a very affordable, refined looking watch in the Sealander. At this price point, Christopher Ward can dominate the luxury watch market. It should be interesting to see which path CW follows. I am fine with CW doing both that would be an incredibly difficult act to pull off.

Much as I think the C60 Concept is an utterly spectacular piece of craftsmanship, for me it’s the C63 which best fulfils the brief of having the most significant impact on CWL.

It’s a whole new product line in a new category for the company. I seem to recall it gave CWL their biggest day of sales outside one of the sales events. I think we’ll be seeing the sport/GADA line of watches for years to come.
Rich.

85 votes so far, with a few days left. If I recall, that’s more votes than in any prior year, right? Good showing.
Still a tight race between two amazing watches in the C60 concept and C63 Auto.

C63 Auto & GMT seem solid but neither blew me back enough to buy one. C63 Sealander Elite was the most exciting to me. I like so much about it, I'll probably pick one up whenever they introduce more colors or a revision; I'm even into the current iteration but I figure I'd like to see some more options.

This years selection of "Watch of the Year" seemed a little more challenging.

The Sealander range was launched as a new group with 3 models so all 3 needed to be listed. If you group all those votes together the Sealander "range" was the focus overall for this years vote. The Sealander "range" garnered 59% of the vote over the runner up with the automatic taking 36% by itself.

Despite the technical achievement of the C60 Concept the majority of this forum most certainly feels that the Sealander "...will have the most significant impact on CWL, not only now, but in the future."

Thanks to all who participated in this years voting.

We have a winner!
