I used to do that but found that the microfibre tends to migrate when out and about. The leather patches stay in place.

I was fortunate to be one of the winners of a CW watch roll, and I must say it is rather nice. Decent quality leather, well finished, a compact way to transport 2 watches. The included leather card holder is a nice addition, now stolen by the missus.
