I thought carefully before making my last post. They were my asterisks, not a censor built into the website.
At the back of it all, i thought, maybe in jest, maybe not, that @nycWATCHnerd , from his personal experience had itemised a litany of potential failings within CW that might contribute to some of the problems being raised in general. I didn't think we were straying too far from the topic to be honest. There seems to be a lot of different failings all contributing to the grievances being raised about CS.

Re: Customer service
I ordered a Sealander with the Bader bracelet. Apparently, they are out of bracelets until mid may. They are sending me a watch with a complimentary strap. The bracelet will be shipped when they come in. Anyone else experienced this?

@Jim77
I emailed a few days ago because the Bader bracelet for the Trident Pro 300 42mm is not even listed but have not heard back from CS. The page does not appear to be public anymore but I found it via a search: https://www.christopherward.com/int/C60 ... S-MA1.html

Re: Customer service
Every watch company has its foibles. A good friend of mine has one of the new Tudor Metas Black Bays. Three weeks new it stopped working and the movement completely seized. The watch had to be shipped back to Switzerland for repair (I am guessing that Tudor HQ captured this watch and wanted to see what was wrong with it). Not ideal after only three weeks. It happens. Up market is no guarantee.

Re: Customer service
Once again, they can't get the listing right and don't answer the phone when one needs to cancel an item because CW could not list it correctly.
Also, don't publish a phone number if nobody ever answers it during (GMT) business hours.
I may stop being Zen, join the other complainer(s), and return everything including the watch. A person can only take so much and be Zen for so long.

Re: Customer service
I am going to share my story here...
I ordered a C63 Sealander GMT that was back-ordered. I requested a cancellation as I opted for a C65 Aquitaine, which they had in stock then. CS did not cancel it in time, and the Sealander (possibly from a return; it was brand new, FWIW, as I inspected it) was shipped to me. I returned it.
I stayed patient.
CS went through the emails to process the return. They saw where I wanted the Aquitaine and recognized that the ball had been dropped. While CW sold out of it, they knocked 10% off the price, gave me partial credit for what I originally paid on the Sealander, and now I am on the shortlist to get the Aquitaine.
I am thrilled, and CS made sure of it.
Thank you!

Re: Customer service
For anyone in the UK having problems with CW responsiveness do take a look at distance selling regulations as they have some specific legal obligations.
https://www.gov.uk/accepting-returns-an ... ods%20back.
And if paying on credit card you also have Section 75 protection.
Both useful reference points when, unfortunately, CW seem to be behaving outside if the law! It is such a shame because I think their intent is to give good service (see above story) but the execution is horrendous.

Re: Customer service
To be clear, as a UK company CW have to (and no doubt will) comply with these regulations. It doesn't matter where in the world you are. In some ways, CW do exceed the legal requirements: e.g 60 day returns, accepting returns on engraved case back. For anyone in the UK
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left
Re: Customer service
Interesting question that - if a UK business is shipping outside the UK to a non-uk customer does DSR apply?exHowfener wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 1:12 pmTo be clear, as a UK company CW have to (and no doubt will) comply with these regulations. In any case, they are not currently meeting their legal obligations with my sample of one. There are defined timelines that they are not meeting unfortunately.
Thanks
Tim
Re: Customer service
I had assumed you couldn't return an engraved piece, but in the current/last sale I bought a NN watch which was engraved.exHowfener wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2025 1:12 pmTo be clear, as a UK company CW have to (and no doubt will) comply with these regulations.
