Counterfeits?
Counterfeits?
Are there CW counterfeits? Being a lesser known brand, and affordable, i would think counterfeiters wouldn't go through the trouble. But ive known to be wrong before

Re: Counterfeits?
Never come across any or heard of any. But as CW grows in popularity there may well be as they make Tissot fakes which are about the same price. If there is money to be made the fakers will have a go. Then serial numbers, matching documentation and receipts become very important.

I once saw a fake Seiko 5 automatic at a boot sale!
Four CWs and too many others to list!

Re: Counterfeits?
Sadly, I am quite clued up in the replica scene- was quite an avid collector until my concience cought up with me and I found that you can buy a REAL swiss made watch by CW for the price of some reps! Never seen one, and I think it'll be a very long time before the rep market bothers...

If anyone wants to make the effort, they can start with the 2009 FLE.

You're kidding? As cheap as they are already? That's unbelievable. How did you know it was counterfeit?TempusFugit wrote:I once saw a fake Seiko 5 automatic at a boot sale!

Re: Counterfeits?
Anyway, counterfeiters usually go after the really big names in watches, like Rolex, Omega, etc. They wouldn't make much of a profit otherwise.
