Re: Coming: the ultimate C60 Trident Pro 300
So far I am not regretting purchasing my PO instead of waiting.
Here is what I am taking from the teaser:
Titanium with 12 level finishing which is very tough to do but not really very tool watch to me.
The ceramic lume compound like the Concept at 12 possibly on the other markers but tough to tell.
Theme of accuracy suggests COSC.
Ultimately, I don't think they are leaning into what I would consider in a tool watch. From the description it is leaning toward form rather than function when to me it is essential in a tool watch to be function over form.
The things that are in contrast to a tool watch for me:
high polish
skeleton hands
They talk about precision and yet have a bezel where the minute markers don't move and with 120 clicks you can place the pip in between markers.
To me don't use 'tool-watch ability' and then 'tool-watch feel' in the same writeup. Either lean in and make a serious tool watch or stop with the marketing nonsense. I get that the whole point of the magazine is a CW ad but the marketing team seems to really push the limits at times.

Wait.... "marketing" and "nonsense" like they are alien concepts? I've just hard a word with old tennis Hack John McEnroe who says this:rkovars wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 5:28 pm So far I am not regretting purchasing my PO instead of waiting.

All (most) of the enthusiasm will be undone when they announce it as a 36mm model

Marketing can be done well. I just don't think it was here. Or in the C63 36 mm launch either.tikkathree wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2024 5:34 pmWait.... Re: Coming: the ultimate C60 Trident Pro 300
Hello again!
When it comes to metals, two stand out for their combination of toughness and lightweight qualities: titanium and specific aluminum alloys.
Titanium:
Titanium earns its stripes as a lightweight champion among metals, by having a strength-to-weight ratio approximately 45% lighter than steel yet being equally robust.
Aluminum Alloys:
Certain aluminum alloys, particularly those utilized in aerospace applications, strike a balance between strength and avoiding unnecessary weight.
Conclusion:
Why not Aluminum for Watches? While aluminum is naturally light, its susceptibility to scratches and dents might not make it the most suitable for the wear and tear that watches often endure.
Now, why might Christopher Ward favor titanium? Well, beyond its impressive strength and lightness, titanium boasts a bonus feature – it's corrosion-resistant.
Or maybe, do you guys think that carbon fiber and ceramic could also be in the mix?
Cheers,
ripple7026

Re: Coming: the ultimate C60 Trident Pro 300
Interesting discussion here. I think it'll be titanium, possibly treated for higher scratch resistance with coating or ice hardening like another member mentioned. I would love to see less numbers on the bezel (too damn busy with markers at every 5 min) and a 60 click bezel, and as thin as possible.

A new and different hand set will be welcome. The current ones let the watch down for me.

Re: Coming: the ultimate C60 Trident Pro 300
In my view, the hands shape is spot on.
However, I do have some concerns about the color mismatch on the white dial model, specifically how the orange on the seconds hand doesn't match the orange text on the dial.
Has anybody else experienced similar issues with the other color variants?
cheers! ripple7026

Wow I'm looking and can't tell if it does it doesn't, for enough for me.the orange on the seconds hand doesn't match the orange text on the dial.
Re: Coming: the ultimate C60 Trident Pro 300
This 100%.
This is why I sent back my Sealander GMT. All three hands were wrong and the minute hand, in particular, was horrid. Is it blunt? Is it sharp? It's both and therefore neither. Yuck.
At least the second hand on the 300 has a lume dot. Unlike the Sealander. Unforgivable.
I look forward to this new 300 but, in the meantime, if CW fix the Sealander - i.e. they change all 3 hands AND make it a chronometer, then I'll buy it. Guaranteed. (I actually quite fancy a Twelve but all the colours are naff).
Re: Coming: the ultimate C60 Trident Pro 300
This is the one I’ve been waiting for! I loved my C60 pro 300 but ultimately returned it. It was within spec of +/- 20 seconds for the SW-200. But it was right at + 20 and it drove me nuts. Hope it’s sooner in 2024 than later. Put me down for a pre-order!
Re: Coming: the ultimate C60 Trident Pro 300
An upgrade in finishing? Use of different materials? All sounds very positive, could this be one of the positive outcomes from the Bel Canto / Twelve hype?

What do you think they could do to it to improve the materials and finishing? It looks mighty fine to me already.
