Would it be too much to hustle CW to give us noble Forum chaps a quick heads-up when a big re-stock of clearance watches is about to happen?Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:57 pm ^^^^ @thomcat00- thanks for the heads up on this.
Opportune timing and I managed to grab a NOS item that is rare as hen's teeth.![]()

I happened to be closing open tabs (and I often have many) when I noticed the restock for this alert. Happy to share the findings.

What does Nearly New mean?
is this watch with box and warranty, no scratches but no plastic packaging?

Re: Clearance has started
^^^ Generally, it means watches that cannot be sold as new because they have been used (usually for review or promotional purposes) and may have minor marks on them.
Often they appear absolutely perfect, but that cannot be guaranteed. That is why they are sold at a lower price. I myself have had two in the past and both were excellent.

Re: Clearance has started
Box and warranty, yes, but the Nearly New watch may have some minor signs of wear.

often they are like new, and in any event you can return them under 60/60 if you aren't pleased. It's a bit of a pain if you aren't in the UK though.

Re: Clearance has started
Does anybody know whether the 5 year warranty recommences from latest point of sale, if the watch Nearly New status is as a result of an earlier sale that has been returned?
CW watch count - enough to keep me very happy, but always room for more!

The 60/60 guarantee, and therefore the 5 years Warranty on the Movement, on a Nearly New watch, applies from the date YOU purchase the watch; not the date of any previous sale (if there was one).Tonywalker wrote:Does anybody know whether the 5 year warranty recommences from latest point of sale, if the watch Nearly New status is as a result of an earlier sale that has been returned?

Re: Clearance has started
And please read the advert for the specific watch: I've never seen "without box" but "no COSC certificate/paperwork"? Saw it this week.
I've bought a good number of Nearly New and never ever had to return one because there were defects with the watch.

Re: Clearance has started
Yes my bronze watch (not bought from CW) didn't have the COSC cert, but it says chronometer on the dial, and it runs to COSC. Papers can get detached from watches.

Re: Clearance has started
^^^ The COSC certificate merely confirms that the uncased movement was running to spec at some point in time before it was put together. Chronometer grade movements, as you suggest, are usually fine.

Re: Clearance has started
Looks like the clearance section has been restocked this morning. Several Sealander variations available including a couple of GMT models. With the regular automatics discounted, buying one would be tempting if I did not already own a green ombre dialed GMT Sealander. Just thought that I would provide a heads up for those that might be interested.

man... im about to checkout the c60 5day then i remember im saving for the belcanto. Hopefully by the time i have enough funds they implement a painted hand maybe in red similar to that small triangular on/ off button >.-
Re: Clearance has started
Didn't see this yesterday nor until a few minutes ago. Rushed to look and put a white Sealander GMT with old logo into my basket as that was what I decided I wanted from the recent Showroom visit.
Then within a couple of minutes I removed it. As nice as it is, it would have been £600 for another watch competing to be worn. I think there will be plenty of releases from CW this year to consider and maybe tempt me.
I'm looking forward to seeing photos of @Bahnstormer_vRS's NOS purchase.

Re: Clearance has started
and I, after some thought, still decided to buy a 38 mm black C60 Trident
the discount did its job ... I would have taken 40 without it
I am still very interested in the manufactured Morgan, but here is a dilemma, the mechanism is impressive, but the design is not mine (((
maybe I'll take a sealander today, but in his case I'm more impressed with the limit of Ukraine or this year's FLE. For them I would give much more money than their face value ...
these are the thoughts...
I hope the excitement is just beginning
