Christopher Ward C4 Peregrine

Post by johnnysharp2 »

HI,

From what I know this is an older chronograph model, black strap, black(dark blue?)/silver face, silver bezel.

Until recently knew nothing about it, any satisfied owners on here?

They made a few more recently, search for 'Pheonix'.

I've got one and my wife loves it!

Personally I'm not mad on quartz chronos, but the C4 has an alarm too, which adds a lot of charm for me.

The build quality is great.

Yes the one I saw was I think an SKK Phoenix.

Phoenix was a nickname given to the batch of watches released by CWL last Summer, not an official name.

There are a number of threads about the watch, and a few have changed hands in the Sales Corner on here and on eBay over the last 9 months...

I have one that I fitted a Zulu strap to and absolutely love it. It has become my go-to grab-and-go watch for casual wear:

Also wear it on a Nato from time to time for a more casual look.

I think it was £250, the same as the original.
A good deal at that price imo.

The re run of the C$ Peregrine was released last August 2015 at a price of £150.00 which was marketed as the same price as the watch was priced on the earlier models a good few years ago.

It was most definitely a bargain, I am glad I purchased one for myself.

According to the Archives the last selling price was £199 on leather and £230 on bracelet.

As Pat51 has already said, the re-release versions were sold at £150 on leather (or rubber in my case) and circa £200 (I can't remember the exact price and can't find a thread/post confirming it) on bracelet

Wearing mine today - this is the 'Pheonix' that I picked up new last year on the bracelet but it also looks good on leather - I swap between the bracelet and C70 straps that fit perfectly into the curve and give it a totally different look.

It has a nicely domed glass which gives the face a nice 3 dimensional appearance - if that makes sense.

I really like it and it was great value for money but I have to say that the alarm is pretty useless unless you have the hearing of a bat!!

If you get one, hang on to it. It's the kind of watch which you can regret parting with

I think that looks-wise and build-wise this is a brilliant watch, and 'phoenix' prices were a real bargain.
however, my 'phoenix' will be in sales corner once I get some pictures done - it proved to be a bit big and a bit busy for me, but more than that just never ever competed with my C11 for wrist time.
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Thanks for the replies.
The reason I asked was I have seen a second hand one available and do like the look of the watch.
However, in hindsight with an already large collection, 2 recent CW sale purchases (a C70 VW4 and a C65 Trident), as
well as a Hamilton auto pilot (which I have been after for a long time).
It's probably best to wait I think.

There are other CW watches, especially a bracelet C60 Trident Pro, that if became available in a sale I would prefer
using the funds for.

The C4 looks nice and thanks for the photos and comments.

£125 for a nearly new? That’s crazy. Wardhoard has an older version with a faulty alarm for £300.
