Chicago Watch Show opportunity

Post by Kip »

As most are now aware, CW ‘s new North America Brand Director, Mike Pearson has posted a schedule of events in The Inside Track.

While many of these events are, or can be, one man shows, there are a few that are more like Trade shows. These require more than one person to man. Mike and I have had discussions and thought it would be a great opportunity for 1 or 2 forum members to get a look at CW from the business side of the counter.

The next major event will be The Chicago Minutes and Hours show on April 6-7. The show is on a weekend and will be open from 12-5 each day.

We are looking for 1 or 2 members to help man this show with Mike. This will be a bit of work, but a lot of fun as well. You will get to meet and work with Mike as well as see the complete current CW line along with the opportunity to meet a lot of other watch people including the over 40 brands that will be at this show.

Your tasks will include set up, takedown, meet and greet, talking to people about CW and promoting the brand as well as hopefully recruiting some new forum members. You will also help by providing security by being another person in the booth.

Depending on your location, a hotel room will be provided for the evening of the 6th if required. There will be plenty of social time with Mike as well.

This is a volunteer position but should be great fun and exposure to CW and other brands and you will be asked to give us a report for The Inside Track about your experience.

If you are interested, in or around, or can be in Chicago on April 6-7 please pm or email Kip for more information asap. This event is fast approaching, and we would like to solidify the manpower status.

This will be fun!!
Kip

My goodness I would love this, and I live pretty close to Chicago (2-3 hour drive). But I'm on a family vacation in Tennessee that week. Do you think my wife and kids would understand?

Actually we will get back to Michigan late at night on April 5th, but we'll be exhausted and unpacking that weekend and I doubt my wife would be happy with me peacing out and leaving her with 2 tired toddlers for a watch show! I would do it any other weekend. Dang.

Well honestly my wife is oddly supportive of my watch obsession... er... habit... er... hobby. I'll slip it into conversation and see what she thinks.

Alex just picture the scene…

You are helping on the stand at the show…

Wearing your C63 FLE…

Someone notices it and comments…

“What a great design, I didn’t see that one on the website”…

“Well did you known that I was part of the design team for this model!” :) :)

Go on you know it makes sense. Your wife will forgive you…

By Christmas!

Alex has received permission and blessings from his wife to work the Chicago show.

Thank you Mrs. J.

As for Alex....thank you for stepping up. I know that you will represent CW well and learn a lot in the process.

I do hope you enjoy yourself and we look forward to your report after the show.

Thanks, but no negotiation needed. Well, I actually kind of negotiated the wrong direction lol.

Me: "But we'll be driving for 10 hours on Friday, home late, and have 2 cranky toddlers to deal with all weekend. Are you sure you don't want my help?"

Wife: "Don't miss this thing, it'll be awesome for you!"

I'll try to take lots of pictures and bring my experience back here to the forum

I live in Chicago and am targeting to attend on Sunday.
A lot of brands will be present, looks like a fun event.

I got there for the start of the event on the second day, Sunday.
I heard it was busier the first day.
Nice event with a bunch of brands to check out.
Stopped by CW a couple of times.
They were surprised to hear I received my Bel Canto, kind of had to repeat that I got mine back in November.
I only saw a Cielo on the stand, they were clearly focused on promoting the rest of the line up.
During my second stop at the booth I heard another gentleman mention he ordered a Viola when they were first released and is still waiting for his.

I’ll let @ajax87 share his thoughts but I just wanted to thank him for helping me this weekend. He was a true ambassador for the Forum and an excellent communicator for CW!!

Thanks man

Mike
