Celebrate CW's 20th Anniversary - "Back to the Boat"
Re: Celebrate CW's 20th Anniversary - "Back to the Boat"
It was a great evening, meeting all CW staff, other CWE and CWF members my highlight was talking to Jorg snr. The scenery was amazing.

Did CW attend?
CW watch count - enough to keep me very happy, but always room for more!

An observation….
A rather disappointing level of responses and photos from those who attended!
Thanks to Guy and Kip who have posted.

No; reason/s unknown.Tonywalker wrote:Did CW attend?
The event was very much like a Corporate Christmas / Summer party, with the majority of CW staff from Maidenhead attending (with a skeleton crew left behind holding the fort, so to say), and some 'private' guests i.e. Forum and CWE etc.
There was also representation from Blue Marine Foundation and BRIT racing plus some CW Challengers.
As such, it would be unusual for an 'old' member of staff to attend - merely a personal observation.

Agreed re old staff, but with the eponymous association and not knowing how the relationship ended up, I was curious, as I'm sure many others were.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 8:55 pmNo; reason/s unknown.Tonywalker wrote:Did CW attend?

Sounds like everybody had a great night, and everything ran to plan, which is all that matters

Many thanks to Guy for sharing the stunning scenery photographs from the boat ride. As a person that appreciates architecture, the London skyline view from the river is quite impressive! I would add that Guy made an excellent choice of which watch to wear to the event. I can only imagine what it feels like for the Christopher Ward founders twenty years removed from that first inspirational boat ride. What a ride it has been for them & the rest of us that admire the brand! Congratulations to all of the team at Christopher Ward for what they have accomplished.

Re: Celebrate CW's 20th Anniversary - "Back to the Boat"
I and Pom (Plus One Mel) had a fantastic time.
Unfortunately we had work, so arrived a little bit later than we wanted, but it was great to meet up. In the shadow of Big Ben for a couple of beers, a pleasure to meet you chaps ! and I hope you all got home safely, I did, but regretted wearing the Brouges walking home from the station.
A 3 minute walk to the pier, and then we spotted the boat arriving, what a stunner !
https://www.silverfleet.co.uk/the-fleet ... -sturgeon/
Champagne on arrival, some lovely nibbles and bottles of lager throughout the 4 hr trip.
Downstairs was the game zone, where the Everton table, whack a Mole, Virtual reality headsets and a racing car simulator were available to see and play.
Apparently Kip only scored the slowest whack a mole time, to make me feel better, thanks Kip.
I topped the leader board on the racing sim, for quite sometime and most people following me, were drink driving so should be disqualified..
The pro drivers were a pleasure to talk too, both delightful.
Then Mike and Peter did there chat, and it was quite emotional stuff from Peter. With a bit of Monty Python thrown in.
After that we just drank, ate and chatted for a nice few hours and Mel pointed out all the buildings we work in, which are located riverside.
P.s. I did hit the dance floor for 1 song.
We arrived back to Westminster Pier at 10.10pm which was perfect timing, disappointed with my photo.
All in all, an unforgettable trip.
My only disappointment, was I didn't get to see a Trident 300 in the metal, but I did get a close look at the Sealander GMT, my first time seeing the light catcher case, and I was very impressed.
Definitely on the shortlist for my next purchase.
I also got offered 25% off my next purchase by Peter, as during his speech, he asked for the 3rd character played by Graham Chapman in "The Holy Grail".
Bryan, Wiseman No 2 and the one he was after "Biggus Dickus" and I was the first to give him the answer, but I had help remembering so I can't accept his offer, unfortunately.
I did think shouting "Speak Up" just after he asked, was worth at least 10% off though.
To the other forum members, I didn't meet, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as me.
P.s. that boring looking building, with the slope, was only photographed, as I imagined Tom cruise sliding down it, in the next Mission Impossible.
All the best Steve

I had a good time, unfortunately I'd come down with something during the afternoon and wasn't feeling great so decided to keep to myself. My wife had a great time though

Was that the totally impartial ex Watchfinder and now CW special edition Bel Canto owning fan pictured in the first set of pictures?
Looks like the back of his head during the speech. How different does he sound in real life

Yes it is, good spot, he's a lot taller than expected, but I didn't hear him speak.A1soknownas wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:20 am Was that the totally impartial ex Watchfinder and now CW special edition Bel Canto owning fan pictured in the first set of pictures?

I don't think he was creating any content either.

Thanks for the earlier boat link. Much fancier than I had imagined. For those who didn't attend there is a virtual tour of the vessel!
