Caterham and Lotus Seven Club C63 LE

Post by Clach77 »

Some years ago, I organised a CW watch for the Lotus Seven Club. The who enterprise was a great success and 150 were made a sold. Eventually I bought the last one at a reduced price which was raffled for the Club charity and raised well over £1000.

Last year I decided to look at this again. Since the last watch there has been a change of Club name, so with this and the passing of time I raised the issue. For various reasons, not least cost, there were fewer expressions of interest this time. We now have a LE of 40. The process was a bit different this time in terms of how I organised the process. I gave the membership fewer options and choices, but the blue dial was the colour chosen by the membership. It’s been a loner process than I remember to get the watches into production, but I’m delighted with the results. The ‘7’ on the dial was tricky to produce and this played a part in holding things up.

Thank you, I’m happy. Not quite all sold - the order was rounded up to 40 so I think there are still a couple left.

The lume in the 7 looks much better in a three second exposure photo than in real life. Hopefully with longer expose to sunlight and longer for my eyes in the dark it will look better.

That’s a beauty. I really like the blue dial, it almost looks black. And the 7 is the standout feature. Nice touch!

Nice watch to have for the club. The lumed 7 is distinctive and fitting. Cool caseback as well with the club logo.

Great creation, really like the dial treatment and 7 is a cool feature. Now I should really stop buying watches and finally get into that Evora I've been thinking about for years (OK not quite a 7 but fun nonetheless). 🙂

That's a very fine looking watch Alex.

I like the addition of what I assume is the registration mark of the car.

A very well done indeed.

Thank you. Yes, the 7 is the style of the grille in most Caterhams.
