Canary Wharf Magazine
Passing through Canary Wharf today picked up a copy of the glossy give-away luxury lifestyles mag circulated there each month for a quick dose of free horological pornography. Imagine my surprise that nestled between the ads for Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Frederique Constant, and B.R.M, to find a face that I am beginning to come to love (not the DB5 that is about to be auctioned - though if the Euro lottery comes up tomorrow) yep the C60 - GMT - SKKO staring me right in the eye begging me to buy. . . . .

Re: Canary Wharf Magazine
Why post - simply because with the exception of a small ad in the back of a Sunday Newspaper's magazine I don't ever recall seeing ads for CWL before and wondered if this a change of tack.

Re: Canary Wharf Magazine
hmmmmmmmm,
i can see 2 reasons;
1. Sales are strong and CWL's finances now allow for non-internet marketing.
2. Sales are poor and the original business model is out the window.
Many on here have been shocked by the price of some of the new models (i am one), although they do still represent value.
I only hope we do not see prices rise further, beyond the VAT rise that takes effect in January. CWL also had an accessible exclusivity that may soon be lost with wider marketing initiatives.
At the end of the day, CWL is a business. I can fully understand and appreciate the need and desire to grow the business. I will watch with interest as to whether the business model that originally attracted me to the brand remains true or gets lost in the quest for growth.
It is going to be a difficult balancing act.

Re: Canary Wharf Magazine
CW might owe me a pint after this evening, I have been asked to wear my C5 to my daughters swimming training as a guy there I'm friendly with is having a 40th birthday soon, and thinks his mum and dad might be wanting to buy him a nice dress watch.
things we do for people eh?
