I haven't experienced exactly what you described, but mine has the original thin hands and it took a little adjustment to get used to seeing the time since you have to differentiate between the very similarly sized minute and (moving) second hand. Once I got used to it I really do like the elegance of the thin hands.realmccoy12406 wrote: Have you experienced any dial legibility with the Charcoal? I have noticed on a couple of occasions glancing down at the watch while sitting at my desk and not being able to see the hands clearly. I have to move my wrist slightly.
Not sure if it's the dial or the domed Crystal.

Re: C9 5day
My preference was the thin original hands and these were actually pictured when ordered.
To my surprise and frustration the watch received had the thicker new style hands.
I agree with your assessment, the watch is very nice. Other than the legibility issue mentioned I am well pleased.

The charcoal dial takes some adjustment, but you will get used to it.

Re: C9 5day
I was sitting in my office contemplating the C9 SS. I have noticed, just now, that the bezel has some sort of a slot, where it meets the case (between 4 and 5). It it similar to the slots, where you insert the blade, on the snap-on back cases.
I'll have to check the C9 Auto when I get home to see if it has the same slot.
Has anyone else noticed this ?
LE: found a photo on the internet that shows the slot.

My C9 5 Day has no such slot.PricoMigdala wrote:I was sitting in my office contemplating the C9 SS. I have noticed, just now, that the bezel has some sort of a slot, where it meets the case (between 4 and 5). It it similar to the slots, where you insert the blade, on the snap-on back cases.

Edit: actually taking my watch off of my wrist and looking closer with my loupe (almost always have one in my pocket - printer's habit), that indentation is totally there. Never noticed that.

Yes, mine has the same indentation. It's a slot for inserting the blade, to separate the bezel from the main body of the watch casing. They all have them.PricoMigdala wrote:I was sitting in my office contemplating the C9 SS. I have noticed, just now, that the bezel has some sort of a slot, where it meets the case (between 4 and 5). Edit: infact, mine has two slots, diagonally opposite each other.

Re: C9 5day
Thank you for your replies, Gents. I checked the 40mm C9 Day and has the same slot, but just one.
One other thing, that I have overlooked. Do all of the SH21s start changing the date around 11pm and finish past 12 (12 to 12:20 ) ?

mine start changing the date from 11:30ish until 1am. Does anyone know if this is normal or should i send it back. Also, mine came with dust inside its annoying since mine has the charcoal face. Can they remove the dust without charging me as part of their warranty?

Re: C9 5day
The date change sounds reasonable to me. I've got ten watches and they're all different. As for the dust, that'll be sorted under warranty for free. If you're still not sure, phone customer services. That's what they're for.candy287 wrote:mine start changing the date from 11:30ish until 1am. Does anyone know if this is normal or should i send it back. Re: C9 5day
can anyone confirm that the slot is for removing the top part of the watch. Like i said earlier i have a dust in my watch that is really bothering me and most likely ask an independent watchmaker to remove it and advice hime to remove the top part of it instead of removing the whole movement.

Re: C9 5day
i contacted them about the dust and gotten no response from any of their contacts. even the special email for member of this forum. I'm devastated about this since im a bit of a clean freak and the dust ( there are 3 dust inside) is just throwing me off.

hhi candy287, you need to know that work done on your watch within the 60/60 period by anyone other than CW will invalidate your warranty. returning a watch to CW is really easy - i'm sure wera will get back to you soon
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Re: C9 5day
Emails can take a few days to get a reply. However, I've had to phone on two occasions and have had a reply instantly, both times. Just keep trying. Getting an independant watchmaker to sort it for you will invalidate your warranty as missF says. Just be patient with trying to get through to customer services and they'll fix it for you.candy287 wrote:i contacted them about the dust and gotten no response from any of their contacts. even the special email for member of this forum.
