It's funny that when the watch initially came out people did not think it was special enough for the movement. Since then I think the appreciation for its classiness has grown. It's a nice watch and I am happy it is now available in a more appropriate size. I can only assume more sales would have been met if both sizes were around at the get-go.

Besides the hands being made wider, it seems the logo on the movement has been moved and is now in gold. Little improvements but nice nonetheless.

Hands are a big improvement over the previous matchsticks. Its a shame nothing about the watches design really says wow. I mean G'S and Rolex, Nomos can say subtle and wow. It might be the case shape. Its not shapely to me. 40mm is certainly miles better for a casual dress watch than 43 though that's for sure.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

They listened to complaints about the thin hands, but the 43mm version still has them?

Strangely, the 40mm version is making me appreciate the original more.

I like the dial and agree the hands look better than the 43mm version, but to me the case is too deep for a watch of this style. It would look even better without a date and with rose gold hands.....

Maybe I will get the 2015 FLE C5 instead.

I think I'm going to get the 43mm. I like the look of the back better and I like the needle thin blue hands on the white dial. The size is less and less of a concern for me as I just tried on the IWC Portofino 8 Day Hand Wound and it's got a bigger diameter (45mm) and has just about the same case height (13mm) and it's a watch I really like. I have bigger wrists so it fits me. I really close to pulling the trigger.

C9 5 Day 40mm now available for preorder

Over 13mm? So it has got the same dimension as my Stowa Chronograph?!?

I have been looking forward to the smaller case, but as it isn't slimmer than the bigger version, I am waiting for the FLE 2015.

Avo's tuna tin comparison is spot on.

Looks great, reminds me of the Omega DeVille Prestige and I assume thats the same case used in the new 40mm jump hour watch. I guess the price may limit the market and its a fair point someone else makes about the blank rotor I think for one of your show piece watches you need to decorate the rotor.

All in all a nice looking watch and I think an improvement on the FC in house watches.

The Worn & Wound review mentions how it wears like some Marine Chronometers and that it’s a formal everyday watch but not a dress watch. In that regard I agree and that's how I would wear it. I like the new gold logo but the plain rotor does look a bit odd. Also, I actually think I prefer the hands on the original more. They were more artsy. I guess the wider hands will help the blue and charcoal versions be more visible because there were some complaints.

This thinner hands on the original look better on in the picture from the side angle. I'll bet that's not the case on the actual watches, however. Can't wait to actually see the new one and compare it to the original.

I love my c5 slim, but those blue hands are striking. I think i could find some room in the watch box for one. 40mm is a really good size else I would have a dinner plate on the wrist. I don't think I would be to worried about the height, the case is rounded and smooth enough to probably not snag too much on a cuff.
Really looking to some comparison photos.

They addressed the issue of the second hand being the same as the minute hand on the blue dial. Will they fix it on the 43MM and more importantly will they before my 60 days are up?

Good stuff! I'm happy to see signs that the oversized watch trend seems to be on its way out and CW is making more reasonably-sized watches for all of us office workers with skinny wrists! :D

Change in fashion might be bad news for the likes of TW Steel's business model though. Not that that's a bad thing.
Fashion tends to be cyclic in nature.

See Return of the small watch article, so must be true

Hi,

Someone can explain me the printed "Swiss Made" what it refers ?

If this is the first watch with a mechanism "in house" and if the design is "English", why not write "england made"?
