I love both variants, but the one thing that stops me placing an order is that the date window is just too close to the number 3. It just looks wrong somehow.

Well, I've ordered a cream Mk1 for now, so I'll see what I think of that when it gets here.

Can't wait......and thanks for the advice all.

The cream Mk I is a cracking watch, you won't be disappointed!

Oh, and savour the smell of it when you first open the box, very memorable. :)

Oops, did I just say that out loud?!

Thats got me wanting the cream C8 Mk1 on tan as well now.

Edging towards the C9 auto though... mix it up a bit.

I love my cream dial MK1. I agree that the date window is a little oddly placed or small. It's a nit pick on an otherwise great watch. the MK1 dial is busier, but no one will mistake it as a knock off IWC either. The two-colored seconds hand sweeps around that huge dial so nicely. It's really pleasing to look at. I can see why some people would prefer the MKII. It is a cleaner dial, and the smaller "duck" at noon is appealing. My C8 has a lot of colors going on (red, blue, cream, shiny silver outline on the 12 marker and date window...you get the picture), but somehow it's distinctive and appealing rather than busy. And it's immensely comfortable on the wrist.

Well, I've got the C8 Mk1 now, and was a bit shocked by the size of it to start with, which I thought I would be, but after wearing it for a short time am absolutely delighted with it.

Following on from this thread, the idea was that I'd keep either the C5A I'd bought recently, or the C8, and send the other back under the 60/60. I've been torturing myself trying to make a decision, and have decided, in the finest tradition of the forum, to keep both!

I love the simplicity and clarity of the C5A, and the C8 is a bit different, simply by virtue of it's size, plus the fact I think the great big dial can easily handle the extra bit of busyness on it's face. The bank manager won't thank me, but what the hell..........

Oh, and I also couldn't resist the C70 Ad Astra in the sale. I really like the C70 although find the "motoring" ones a bit too busy for my taste, and while I get the feeling the Ad Astra isn't that popular (wouldn't be half price otherwise I guess), I really love the appearance of it. Think it's a great watch.

So I've ended up with 3 CW's inside three weeks, which is a bit of a worry! Is there anything I can take to stop me getting more? This could get out of hand!

Cheers,

Trevor.
