Re: C70 DBR1 terrified to wear!
Get it worn! If it does collect a few odd marks you have the choice of: Live with them, or polish them out. I'm really getting into the whole polishing and re-brushing thing and when I check whichever watch I'm wearing, I always feel sort of disappointed if there's nothing to correct It's really easy to do and curiously satisfying. Been wearing my FLE a lot lately and I'm pleased to note that it is in nowhere near the same league as the Omegas for collecting marks. In fact, not sure how, but the clasp doesn't seem to mark at all whereas the Speedy one scratches when you look at it sideways!

Re: C70 DBR1 terrified to wear!
i wear mine as the daily beater, going to gigs ,working round car and generally anywhere where i think it might get a knock.
after the initial shock and dissapointment at the first tiny mark i decided that it would be better to have one getting a knock than my good other watches, which i like to keep pristine.it has to be said though the paint and material the bezel is made from should be far harder because you cannot keep this watch in good ding free condition unless you keep it in a glass display cabinet just to look at but what a quality great looking beater it is.

Re: C70 DBR1 terrified to wear!
Excuse my ignorance, but why is this watch prone to bezel damage?

We had a sneak In burglary, little gits came into the conservatory while we at our dinner and took some random things that were on the side, Hoover, Barbour coat, watch and a camera. Insurance is coming through quickly though but they want to replace the watch, which is currently sold out. Ho hum.

No consolation mate but thank goodness they didn't take your late grandfather's watch proudly shown in your signature. Now that would have been irreplaceable.

Re: C70 DBR1 terrified to wear!
Thank god, all my other watches are snug in my watch case upstairs, i'd only taken the C70 off as id been out with the dog, she was wet through so I had to dry her off so took the watch off as she likes to nibble my wrists when I dry her (she's still a pup). My paranoia about scratching it has led to it been stolen!
Damn it.

Re: C70 DBR1 terrified to wear!
I'd keep a look out on E-bay or the local exchange shops. I would have thought there's half a chance getting a low volume serialized watch back again...
Re: C70 DBR1 terrified to wear!
Given the type of burglary it was I very much doubt they've any idea what the got. The took a coat to cover the Hoover as it was raining, they just got lucky that it was a Barbour dry fly with a camera in the pocket. I've a sneaking suspicion they were of sub standard intelligence and wouldn't know how to use eBay.
Insurance has been fantastic though, coat is paid for already and I'm awaiting a cheque for the camera and Hoover.
The watch people will be ringing me on Monday then I can discuss its replacement, I know the c70 is out of stock so I may just have to either accept cash or a same value piece.

Re: C70 DBR1 terrified to wear!
So sorry to read about the theft. These events are never pleasant and the inconvenience is a royal pain.
Fortunately no one was hurt and I hope the litlle f*#ckers get their due.
Perhaps your insurance would accept the DBR1 COSC as the replacement. After all, It was a limited edition that was stolen, and whose value was expected to increase.

When do you think the DBR1 COSC will be back in stock kip? I think they'd prefer to replace like for like.
