C65 Trident MKII in Summer 2022

Post by Lu.. »

So I was reading the latest issue of Loupe (Issue 23, Autumn 2021)......... and on page 9 they had a "Drawing board" article that indicated that the current C65 is in the end of it's lifecycle and that a new C65 generation (MK2?) will be out by next summer.

The article goes on to say the designs were approved and that "an automatic (I'm guessing a 3 hander) and GMT are confirmed".....in addition a "range topper" might be released as well.

I really love my C65..looking forward to this MK2 C65.....

Same here, I'm a big fan of the C65's style, size and fit. I was talking to Declan about it and he suggested it will be an evolutionary change

Yes @Lu.. that article got my attention too.
I really enjoy my current C65 Trident Diver, in fact more so today than when I got it a couple of years ago. Can't say better than that.
An evolution with "range topper" SH21 inside would have trigger-pulling appeal.
Waiting for the day when CW does another watch with an SH21 in a case that fits my skinny wrist like the current C65 does.

I’m looking forward to the evolution of the C65. I quite like mine, probably more than my C60s. Something else to start putting away my pennies in anticipation. :)

Lu, Noush, Thomcat - I think we’re on our own with our hopes and dreams for the C65 redesign!

Not alone! I’m excited to see what direction CW takes things in, especially the GMT and the world timer.

I should add that I’d really like to see a black ombré C65 in the line up

Any of the gang like to share what they’d like to see in the refreshed C65 range?

It’s simple for me - a little less use of vintage lume! But otherwise, nothing too drastic, just an evolution of the line.

I white dial GMT with black indices (or maybe the gunmetal as used in the C63 series) and a silver bezel would be great, too.

I really like the C65 World Timer but struggle with the yellow, so maybe a new color scheme for that one with a refreshed design?

I like Bell & Ross vintage styles. Perhaps something with numerals.

I was pondering whether sapphire dials would work, but somehow I don’t think they would. Sapphire works on the C60 diver range, but I don’t see it fitting the vintage diver range

I agree 100% about the sapphire dials.

And I’ll modify my previous comment from a white dial to maybe a champagne dial (or something similar.

What about gold tone or rose gold cases?

I’d like to see some Arabic numerals, perhaps at just cardinal points. Other dial colors, particularly with contrasting bezel colors, would be interesting; the champagne sounds appealing. Sunburst or other style of color gradient dials would lend interest. I’m also ready for more baton markers over the dots. A return of an SH21 drive model, premium or LE, would be good, too.

I very much like the light catcher case. Not sure that I’d want to see much change there. I’m sure more ideas will rise.

SH21 tops my list and as a regular model rather than a LE if the production capacity is there.
Keep the lug length where it is - more and I'd struggle to wear it.

What I would really like to see with C65 is a bit of a personality shift. So where the C60 series is straight-up diver, then C65 moves more towards a deck watch in the vein of say IWC's Portugieser 40 Auto, Stowa Marine, that style of thing. With more real numbers on the dial!

They tried the deck watch look a few years ago with the C9 5-day Small Second, a hand winder with SH21.

I did consider it but didn’t buy it. Not sure quite where it would fit in the collection now.
