Do you mean just at CW or more widely? brass and bronze watches have been around for quite some time. Personally I've never wanted to keep a watch in either material in its "bright state" but have always allowed air patination to happen. I tried patinating one watch by repeatedly immersing it in a saline solution: it happened, I wanted to like it and, truth be told, felt that I needed to be in or on the sea to do it justice.
