C65 Auqitaine Automatic Marine Blue arrived

New addition: CW C65 Aqutaine Automatic

Fresh from the UK, the Aquitaine arrived today. The pictures don't even begin to reflect the beauty of the watch.

The new bracelet tapers from 22mm at the lugs to 16.3mm and 18.6mm respectively at the clasp. The strap links are now screwed, which is a problem because I can't use my tools to apply two screwdrivers on the left and right at the same time to loosen the screws. Apparently it is a screw/sleeve combination and not, as with other manufacturers, a screw head on one side and a thread at the end. If I had known that beforehand, I would not have ordered the steel bracelet or had it shortened by CW in advance. The only thing left to do now is to go to the local watchmaker to have the bracelet shortened before I scratched the screw heads any further than I had before.

Otherwise a great watch that turns into a glow cookie in the dark

Thanks for the photos! That second photo is one CW should be using! It shows off the dial so much better than any of their images!

Looks great! I was already considering a jewelers screwdriver set so this is making the decision a lot easier.

I had that with a watch. Screwed links with two screws on each, which were loctited. I got a watch maker to remove all the removable links, and I put back the ones I needed. Still better than pins and collars though

You can still see the thread locker on the screws. I don't know how to get it off.

By the way, I hope you are recovering, and feeling a lot better now.

It's getting better, and on Wednesday my rehabilitation at the North Sea will finally start. But don't think that I'll post less because of that

Finally, some real world pics! That shade of blue looks extraordinary in your pics (especially the 2nd one), far better than CW’s pic.

Sorry to hear about the link screws issue, this is why I hate screwed links in bracelets. I much prefer the pin & collar setup and if you have the correct tools they are brilliant.
I had hoped that CW would do just a screw on one side of the link like other brands.
