You have to wonder how long they are down there for ...Granted I'm no dive aficionado, but I don't imagine many people need to know the date when they're under water.

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black
Mike France was open about other colourways following 8 weeks after launch. These comments were covered in various interviews. I certainly buy in the knowledge that a new variant is just around the corner.mvlow wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 8:08 pm I can imagine how frustrating this could be for someone who purchased one of the first colors of the Aquitaine on or after April 21st, only to see a new color they like being released just 6 weeks later on June 1st. As a suggestion for CW, in the future it might be a good idea to "preview" any future color colors that are going to be released within a certain time after the initial release so consumers can make an informed decision whether to wait a few weeks for a color they may prefer.
I understand this is not practical after a certain period of time, but something like three months might be about right. The 60/60 return policy doesn't help someone in this situation if they have worn the watch within the initial 60 day period as they couldn't get a full refund.
Releasing a new color three to six months after initial release without previewing it seems fine, but after only 6 weeks. Come on CW!
That said, casual purchasers might be a bit disgruntled if they are expecting the launch colours to be exclusive for a good few months

I’m with Steve on this. The Aquitaine shines in the pure diver mode. For a GMT, I’ll take the fixed silver bezel of the Sealander all day long.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 6:08 pmNo contest. Sealander, better size, bezel, dial, indices…blah-blah-blah. .

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black
The fixed bezel versions look better IMO because of the odd hour markers (dots). This reason alone has me holding off from getting a C60 GMT. The bezel looks off to me without the odd markers. Another reason my C65 GMT (stainless) isn't going anywhere.jkbarnes wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 9:30 pmI’m with Steve on this. The Aquitaine shines in the pure diver mode. For me the fixed bezel limits the usefulness by quite a bit. With a twisty bezel you can track 3 time zones at once. I have local time on the main hands, GMT on the GMT hand and then you can twist the bezel for a third (I often have calls that span several time zones). The twisty bezel can also be used for timing in a pinch. Just my $.02.
Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but sometimes, playing a poor hand well.

I’m with you on this. I do like the idea of a rotating bezel for the very reason you mention. When I mentioned the “fixed bezel” of the Sealander, it was really meant as a reference to preferring the Sealander GMT, not preferring a fixed bezel.rkovars wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 9:48 pm For me the fixed bezel limits the usefulness by quite a bit. That being said, from a purely aesthetic point of view I do very much like the look of the smooth bezel of the Sealander GMT over a knurled bezel.

I agree that those of us in the WIS community might take the time to watch an interview or two, and based on what is said might wait a while before ordering, but there is a huge customer base out there that has probably never watched a Mike France interview and would be surprised to see a new color come out six weeks after a new release. I think a good idea would be to actually list any new colors that are coming down the pike within a few weeks with a rendering on the website captioned "coming soon." That way anyone considering a purchase can be fully informed.Kansas City Milkman wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 8:44 pmMike France was open about other colourways following 8 weeks after launch. This doesn't affect me personally because I tend to wait a while before purchasing a new release to make sure I really like it, as opposed to rushing out any buying right away.

Wish the bezel numbers and pip were white. Not digging the fauxtina on this one.

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black
Not just black, orca black.
I can get behind hunter, ocean, teal and even white sand as a descriptor.
But orca, come on marketing just have a day off .
Many of the newer releases have a two word approach to the colour so I will wait for further entertainment as to the other iterations of black they can come up with...midnight, coal, basalt, carbon...
As with the other variants, it will be good to see some real life images because at the moment I am getting more Spinnaker vibes rather than Blancpain, but would be happy to be persuaded otherwise. Good to see an orca black one enter the mix though.

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black
I would like a non-GMT black orca version with COSC certified movement. That would be perfect.
Don't really like circle markers but i could live with them if the above was presented.

I’m really liking the red accents with the Orca Black.

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black
As to how CW often add further dial colours soon after a new model launch?
Struggling to think that is a problem. But then again I don’t tend to look at a watch and think -
I like that, however I would prefer a matt black dial GMT with vintage lume plots and bezel markings. Not available? oh never mind I will buy the green sunburst dial three hander instead……

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black
^^^ Sometimes it can work in your favour, Neil. I knew I wanted a Sealander GMT but thought I would wait for a blue one. In the end I didn’t, and for me the black one was the right choice. The blue wasn’t the kind of blue I had hoped it would be, if that makes sense.

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black
It wasn’t that I settled on a color, it was that I saw something I liked in the blue one and then a couple weeks later saw something I liked as much or maybe more in the black one.
I’m truly interested to see how those watches look in real life. I’d intended the blue watch to be my everyday watch but was a little concerned the blue might not be appropriate a non-zero amount of time, but I do think (from the marketing photos) it’s a great-looking blue.

Orca Black?
A fitting colour description, considering that CW are making a donation of five per cent of all proceeds, from the sale of Aquitaine models, to Blue Marine Foundation.
