Appreciate all the comments :) Regarding sand exposure, not a big deal putting a watch through sand test, you're exposing it to as much tiny sand floating in the ocean as on dry land. For reference I've been surfing with my Seamaster 300m for over a year, plenty of sand exposure, not a single issue with the bezel.

I'm betting real money that the individual grains of sand are bigger than the tolerance gap between the bezel and crystal and case. In that respect I'd rather run my watch through an arty sand shot than cover it in mud, talc or flour.
