I have that question too. I assume it is supposed to emulate the red line on a tachometer. It's the one feature I find questionable.
Yeah, if anything why not 50-60 rather than right at the start of the "time range". Makes no sense!

in a world of 30 and 60 minute chronographs I certainly appreciate a chrono which will record hours.

Is it a cheap chrono? No it is'nt. Should it be cheaper? No IMHO it should't. Do I like it? Yes i do. Will I be buying it? No I do't think that I will.

Very much my thoughts, Pete. I have my two C70s and I have my Speedy. And much as I like chronographs I will be retiring next week, only working on a VERY part time basis next year, so the need for chronograph activity as such is dwindling.

The three I have are going nowhere. Their place in the box is not negotiable.

As previously noted this has a very nice central second/minute movement. Nice C65 case but I don’t like the dial style with the cutoff numerals for minute markers.

The Certina DS-2 precidrive chrono’s are basically the same but with a more conventional styling. That’s where my money would go if I wanted a quartz chrono with this functionality.

Looks good and taking into account finishing, cosc etc it isn't badly priced when considering where watch prices are generally heading. And appears to be the final chance to pick up a CW quartz!

I am curious about this as well. Would they still have the old straps and put them on new watches?

They could also go one better and chuck an alarm on it with a small sub dial like my old Seiko sports 150 which has sadly become obsolete due to lack of parts, and does not "go" any more (I leave it on the kitchen window so if we get burgled the Twit takes it ) haha

Have CW got a July sale coming up where this quartz watch could be more cost effective ?

It's a brand new introduction. If there is a sale I wouldn't expect to see it.

How does the chronograph work? The description says ‘small seconds’ - so the 6 o clock dial is seconds not chronograph minutes (?) but there’s a white and a red second hand so are they two separate chronograph hands, and if so how do they work?

Sorry it’s late and I’m being thick and I can’t work it out :)

I had the same question and looked up the movement.
1/10 second counter at 2:00
Small seconds at 6:00
12hr counter at 10:00
Central 60 second and 60 minute counters

I really like this. However, with my L7C C3 that’s not worn so much, I doubt that I’ll be buying one. I’ll be happy for everyone who does - it feels like a lot to watch for the money.

This watch is really growing on me, so much so I might float it out there to my wife as a 50th birthday gift (turning 50 is September).
