C63 Valour Arrives Early!!!

On Monday, I was pleasantly pleased to receive notice from Christopher Ward that my C63 Valour had been despatched from CW headquarters. This was a pleasant surprise because by the time that I ordered late on the first day of its release, the expected time of shipping was saying May 10th or thereabouts. Then, my watch order ran the gauntlet of customs clearance & hand off from DHL to the USPS smoothly as it arrived today, a day earlier than DHL was forecasting! Upon unboxing the package, I was favorably impressed with the new, more compact watch box that has replaced the larger, coffin style. This was my first CW watch since the change & I am pleased with the new, reduced size with no discernible downside. As for the C63 Valour, I couldn’t be more happy & impressed! This is such a sharp, nicely designed chronograph that is exactly what I hoped that Christopher Ward might make someday. Of course, an automatic would have been welcome but the trade off in slimness, weight, cost & accuracy of a quartz model is well worth it. All depends upon the person but I am as happy with my new chronograph as some people will be with their new skeleton Twelves when they get them.

Lovely! That's a very nicely done watch.
How do the chrono pushers feel? I don't know if there's a tactile difference between auto and quartz, but I know that the feel of quality in the 'click' would be one mark of quality that I'd pay attention to. I hope it's a satisfactory click

Congrats Delmar! That looks really nice on the strap. I saw in the CWLOTD thread you have it on a consort bracelet you already had- just curious if it was bought for this watch or you bought it for a different watch and it just happens to fit this one as well?

They have a very positive mechanical 'click', Lindsey. At least my C63 Valour has.

Thanks Guy. I was thinking about a car advert years ago where the designer is trying to find the perfect hinge and door with the perfect click

Thank You! In answer to your question, I had bought the Consort bracelet on the January sale for use with my Forum LE. That’s a real positive with Christopher Ward using the popular C63 case which works for the 39mm Sealander. It’s really nice to be able to swap existing straps & bracelets one already owns. Since, I have a Bader bracelet for my Sealander, I will be trying that one next. I like the looks of the Valour on the black canvas strap, I just need to break it in properly.

Lindsey, I will concur with what Guy stated. The pushers for my watch operate with a very positive, satisfactory click! I know the watch isn’t an automatic mechanical watch, but it exudes quality! I may be different in taste from the usual chronograph enthusiast, but I like the plain Lightcatcher case which doesn’t seem too busy. I never thought that I would say this, but I really like this one not having a calendar date function. My C65 AM GT LE has the date which requires adjustment with those odd months. With the superlative accuracy of the Valour’s thermo compensated quartz movement, the only time that I will need to adjust the time is for Daylight Savings Time. Just a great design with elements of “Field” & “Dress” watches to be comfortably used for either purpose.

I will add one more observation on my new acquisition. As my wife just told me, the pictures don’t do the watch justice. Maybe an extreme close up would illustrate how the numerals & logo are raised which provides interesting dimensional depth. Add the reverse Panda sub dials & this chronograph has a very tactile, textured feel to it!

It's all great feedback on the quality of the watch
I don't know if you're into cars? I'm not - but I'm into clever advertising. Here's a link to the advert that made me ask about the click and feel of the pushers:

Congratulations Delmar !!
The Valour looks fantastic
Great post and photos also.
I prefer the look of it on a black strap, maybe the vintage oak would work well.
