Re: C63 Ukraine edition
Personally it is not something I would normally purchase, but I am happy to help out in this manner with a Limited Edition watch with colors that have remained true to the Ukrainian flag.
My preorder is in.
I am also of the belief that the funds will be donated based on the pre orders so those in need via the International Committee Of The Red Cross (ICRC) will not be waiting long for the funds.
Are there other ways to donate? Of course there are, but this is how CW has chosen to donate via their customers and provide an alternate way to show support. Could the colors be arranged differently? Of course, but I think staying true to the Ukrainian flag is perfect. Just my opinion.

I applaud the idea, and the inspiration to do something for raising funds. I hope it sells out quickly. I’d like it more if the funds were not needed. I’m glad CW took this step forward.

It's a very nice gesture and shows that CW's conscious extends beyond watch making and bottom lines. These poor people in Ukraine need our help, if you want to do that by purchasing a watch, that's fine by me.

Re: C63 Ukraine edition
I'm slightly conflicted tbh.
I've made donations through my preferred agency/route into the Red Cross funding pot.
My first reaction to the design of this watch is that it's not appealing to me at all and if I didn't know that the blue/yellow is a straight lift from the Ukrainian flag I'd be thinking what kind of weak photoshop job is this. Aliexpress or what?
So I'm conflicted simply because the design is what I'd normally be looking for?
Does that matter? No, of course it doesn't.
That's really not the point, is it?

Re: C63 Ukraine edition
In a change to the original spec of the watch, as shown the image in @sproughton's original post, which was actually incorrect and now corrected by CW, the date window is White and not Black, as can now be seen on CW's website;- C63 Ukraine LE.
It looks much smarter and more cohesive.

Re: C63 Ukraine edition
I just ordered one, see what it looks like in the flesh. I can always auction it at a fundraiser and give the proceeds to the Red Cross- thereby it would help a good cause twice.

Re: C63 Ukraine edition
I'm confused.
The CW homepage is stating 'All proceeds to the International Red Cross', but the item description talks about hoping to raise £150k.
Not CW bashing, but to me the above statements mean different things.

Re: C63 Ukraine edition
I don’t see any need for confusion. “Proceeds” is used quite often in these situations. Synonyms include profits and earnings. CW has been clear that they are donating everything except the manufacture cost, and also that their suppliers have reduced costs for this watch in order to maximize the donation.what-time-is-it wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 5:35 pm I'm confused.![]()

Re: C63 Ukraine edition
The way I see it, the watch is £595 incl. VAT, so approx £500 ex VAT, 300 are made, 300x £500 = £150k…

Interesting to see the amount of profit in the watches yet a price increase coming soon.

CW are very transparent about how they set their prices, the retail price is set at 3 X the cost price, this is a relatively small mark up in the world of luxury watches.
Once you take out operating costs etc the actual profit is a lot less.

It always amazes me how people see the profit per item is without taking into account how much it costs to run a business
