It's a good idea to let a GMT watch run for 4-6 hours to let the GMT hand 'settle in' after adjusting it, to allow it to take up slack in the movement.

I experienced this with a C65 GMT a couple of years ago.

I've used this method with success:

1. Lets assume that todays date is the 15th....(Which it is)
2. With the crown....set the date on your watch to the 13th....
3. With the crown....now rotate the hour and minute hands untill the date changes to the 14th....
4. Continue to rotate the hour and minute hands untill the time reads 12:00 PM....and leave those hands directly lined up at the 12:00 position
5. Now....adjust the GMT hand to the correct position that corresponds to 12:00 PM....in other words....set the GMT hand to 12 on the bezel....(Which is located at 6:00)
6. Now....pull the crown back out to adjust the hour and minute hand and advance the hands to 12:00 AM....
When you complete step 6....the hour, minute and GMT hand will all be synchronized at 12:00 AM and the date will change to the 15th....
Now you can set the correct time and all is in order....

The only deviation I use in this procedure is that in step 5 I set the GMT to wherever I want it. I usually have the GMT hand tracking true GMT on the dial not reflecting the current local time.

Just received my latest acquisition a black dial C63. I was really impressed with the white dial, but the black is something else, pictures don't do it justice.

Really weird data point. Sealander GMT was drifting a very credible -6 per day. After going through an excessive of getting the GMT hand properly aligned, it barely drifts at all. Coincidental to extreme warm weather?

Sometimes they just need a little time to settle in. I usually do a timing run over a week, on the wrist, to determine where the isochronism is sitting.
