Perhaps I’ll now try to sneak that 37mm Citizen Promaster Diver I’ve been eyeing into the mix.

I'm sure it's been noticed! Mine is the Jura Green so it sticks out like a sore thumb! On the hunt for a GMT now..

They always know...it is just worse when they keep it to themselves and we think they do not know.

Just got my new Twelve Ti. It takes the record in most quickly spotted by my wife. She asked how many thousands I paid for it.

I don’t know, love. It’s something Dennis ordered and I agreed to him having it sent here. Christmas present for Doreen, I suspect, but I didn’t ask. I’ll take it round later when you go shopping.

I had to just ‘fess up to Mrs TB over a lovely country pub Sunday roast (oh how I have missed you!) that there’s a new CW on the way. Firstly, she mentioned something about buying new watches and I thought it might be remiss of me not to mention it since we were on topic. Secondly, I’m not sure the Lumière is quite subtle enough to be on the wrist for long before being noticed.

I just wonder if I have now dug myself a bigger hole given what may happen when two new watches arrive instead of the one I described. Would it be underhand of me to describe this as a CW distribution problem?!

Is there any kind of ‘Agony Aunt’ thread on here to get advice on problems such as these?

I’d like to think you ordered that second one purely to return it under 60/60 as a way to mitigate the purchase of the Lumiere with a false sense of regret! “Sorry Hon, I’ll tell you what. How about I return this second one then.”

After much reflection I think I’m going to with claiming it’s one watch with quick swap dials…!

My approach with the lady of the house is simply to say…

“It’s a Christopher Ward, nothing like the cost of a Rolex, not much more than a washing machine”.
