C60 Elite 1000 Pre-Order and strap/bracelet questions

Post by rcook »

I'm about ready to click buy on the C60 Elite 1000. I've read the FAQ but was wanting to ask for experiences from anyone that has pre-ordered. What is the usual lead time to get the watch once the 'last day of the month' passes? Are pre-orders limited in any way, as in if I order there isn't a chance that I wouldn't get the order fulfilled?

This will be my second CW, previously I had a C60 Trident Pro 600 and loved it so this will be a welcome replacement.

Also, I always try to buy a watch with a bracelet if offered but for the Elite 1000 I have to say that I don't find it looks as attractive on the bracelet compared to both the rubber and tide straps. The main reason I get the bracelet is if I even choose to sell the watch having a bracelet completes the package. Am I foolish to pass on the bracelet at purchase and potentially wait until later to get it?

Unlike other brands, CW does not charge an arm and leg for a bracelet when sold without the watch. It's about the same as if you were to purchase with the watch. Of course, there's inflation to contend with, but then again, they do improve their bracelets over time.

So I had a quick look at CW's website: I can't explain why there seems not to be a listing for the Elite 1000 on bracelet because it certainly has been sold on bracelet and IMHO the watch suits a bracelet very well indeed. I want to suggest that you order a bracelet when ordering the watch but if you're not thrilled by how it looks on bracelet surely there's not a problem?

Sounds like CW doesn't mark up the bracelet for post sales so I won't save anything by buying at at the start. I think I'm going to hold off, just get the rubber and tide straps from the go.

If it helps at all, I preordered in December with a #Tide strap. In February, I separately ordered the titanium Bader bracelet. I, too, am not typically a fan of bracelets. The bracelet arrived a couple weeks ago and it's pretty darn gorgeous. Maybe that it's titanium, or CW's quality, I don't know, but I have absolutely zero buyer's remorse and can safely say that I'll be wearing the Elite 1000 on the bracelet once the watch arrives.

That's about right. CW do not charge a premium for their bracelets.

If you take a watch on a strap, deduct the cost of the strap, then add the stand-alone price of a bracelet, you get the RRP of the watch on a bracelet. There is therefore no financial advantage, or disadvantage, to buying a watch on the bracelet.

However, there is a greater likely hood that the bracelet will got out of stock at some point in the future, than there ever is of straps being out of stock; remembering that the end links for a bracelet will be specific to a particular watch.

With this in mind, it's notable that CW are not currently offering a Bracelet option for the C60 Elite 1000, either when buying the watch or as a stand alone order. :-k :-k

From my near constant browsing over the last 2-3 weeks of the site I too noticed the bracelet is not an option now where it was not that long ago. Well, decision made. It's been ordered on rubber with the Tide strap as well. Now the waiting begins...
